Hi I've just read on another site :rolleyes1 about a place called Crossroads which it says has lots of restaurants and is very close to DTD.

Can anyone tell me please if it is very close, we are staying at OKW so won't be far from DTD. Also what else is there, shops? bars?

Thank you :thumbsup2

In planning for our trip in May I have been advised it is very walkable from DTD but have not been before so others on the boards will porbably be able to help

As far as I know the Crossroads is just at Lake Buena Vista. If you scroll down this page there are other Crossroads related threads which will help. Just a word of warning be careful what hotel you pick in LBV as a lot of them back on to the I4 which is an extremely noisy road. We stayed at the Comfort Inn and it was a nightmare as I struggled to sleep, I had to resort to a large glass of wine every day to knock me out.

It is walkable but will take around 10-15mins but is a pleasent walk. I know there is a TGIF,olive garden, kobe , mcdonalds and several others. There is a pirate cove golf and some shops in the area.

we stayed at the regal sun resort which was the grosvenor, this is right next to DTD. we walked to crossroads when staying there. It is a nice walk but crossing the roads was scary :scared1:

We will be staying at OKW and would not want to walk from their, just a bit too far in the heat! with kids. You could get the water transport to DTD then walk from there. The supermarket is nice but more expensive that walmarts & co. other shops were quite nice too, I recall a disney merchandise shop , card/gift shop, etc.

And from May 4th there'll be a Sweet Tomatoes :thumbsup2
Olive Garden and Kobe are not actually in Crossroads, as far as I know. There about another 10 mins walk away.
:)

At crossroads and surrounding area there are loads of places to eat, from cheap all you can eat Pizza(CiCi's) at around $5 upto the Carving station around $25pp, there is also Black Angus, Hooters, Orlando Ale house (great if you like a drink also) Chills, Olive Garden, McDs, Taco Bells, You could go on and on, loads more. And from 4th May one of my fave places to eat Sweet Tomatoes:cloud9:

Will you have a car? as said its just 5 mins away.

Yes we will have a car so I think we will drive to avoid the heat! I've looked at the map link and it looks fairly straight forward (famous last words lol )

Thanks for all your help again :thumbsup2

Nothing could be easier than driving to Crossroads from OKW. Find your way to DTD, straight opposite is Hotel Plaza Blvd go on there til you get to end and main road, straight across and you are in The Crossroads.
This link shows WDW(Hotel Plaza Blvd) to your left

This is a map I posted months ago to show the area,
1. Crossroads
3. Orlando Ale House
4. Marriott Village incl Golden Corral & Bahama Breeze
6. DTD

Just off top of map is Chillis
What dates you at OKW? We are there 6th-22nd August.

We are there from 04/08 to 25/08

Have you got free DDP?
We have and not sure we will like it, so many places we love eating at offsite we are going to miss. Just couldn't resist the offer.
At least we have 9 nights in May to eat offsite.

Yes we got the free dining too, its tough trying to pick restaurants to use all the TS up without knowing the park hours for August.

Not even thinking about it yet, will wait until we get back after our May trip then start on August planning.

Its our first trip so too excited :yay: to wait! I've been planning for months already, DW thinks I'm mad but keeps coming up with questions for me to ask on DIS :cool1:
