Crossing use year & 2 reservations

My use year is August. We have 60 2007 pts currently to use. I want to call to find out if I can make a Dec 2008 reservation at my home resort using all my 2008 pts. My problem is I also want to make a May 2008 reservation (about 130 pts(only have 60 avail)), but have not decided where yet. Can I call and make the Dec 2008 Reservation today using 2008 pts. Then call back later to make the May reservation and have them borrow 2008 pts for May and at the same time borrow 2009 to cover the Dec. reservation I've already made???

My understanding is yes, but you'll have to tell MS exactly what you're wanting to do. By default, they use points that are going to expire first toward your reservation unless you specify.

Yes, if you do it as decribed the current 2007 points cannot be used after July 31, 2008 UNLESS you bank them first - so MS cannot use them for a December, 2008 reservation unless you bank them first. If they suggest doing that, just tell them you will be using those points for a reservation in the current Use Year.

As for the rest of your question, I'd be careful. If you use ALL of your 2008 points for the reservation in December you will have no points left to borrow for the May reservation. You would then need to cancel the December reservation to return those points to your account and then reschedule that reservation with points borrowed from your 2009 Use Year. Some CMs at MS might reallocate points to allow you do that, but I would not want to risk messing up an existing reservation in the process.

If possible, I'd make the May reservation first - using the 2007 points and borrowed 08 points and at the same time make the December reservation using 2008 points and points borrowed from 09.
