Wondering if anyone has ever had any problems? Here are a few situations I can see happening...
1. 'Sorry, these are weapons, we have to confiscate them.'
2. (Upon returning with pins I brought over with me) 'We dont believe you brought these with you, we think you purchased them there, so you need to pay duty/taxes on all these.'
3. 'You traded for some of these? So you received them as gifts? You didn't declare that you received any gifts, we're going to have to confiscate/destroy these.'
I'm in Canada, and have never had anything but troubles crossing the border, by car or plane, especially coming back into Canada! Our 1st trip to WDW and Florida, I had a fridge magnet with sand in in confiscated/destroyed by customs. Why? Because I hadnt declared I was bringing back a 'SOIL SAMPLE'! Next trip I bought one of those alligator heads you may have seen at the souveneir shops just outside WDW, customs officals deemed it to be an ENDANGERED AMERICAN CROCODILE head! Luckily I had checked off the 'animal meat or parts' box on my customs, so I did eventually (several months later) get it back, after it had been examined by some 'experts'.
So I'd like to avoid the hassle, if there will be one, in bringing pins back and forth to WDW. So, back to the original question, has any one ever had a problem with pins at either airport secutity, or at the border/customs?
Thanks!
