Cross your fingers!!!!

So we're trying to get away for the 2nd weekend of August (yes, 2010). We've "been" everywhere. We started in Wis. Dells. I tried Sheboygan/lakefront (PGA tour--oops). The other night we were in Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale. Yesterday morning I was even on the Jersey Shore (Philly).

I fly the ideas by my in-laws (the DVC owners) and MIL asks if we tried MCO. I said it was the same price as DFW (family there), but that the "free" hotel was nice. They agreed--and even agreed that the beach (see Tampa above) was still doable.

So yesterday I wanted to call MS just to check availability and my 30 minute nap was actually 90 (LONG weekend--midwest flooding and family). I got up at 4:32 CST. Oh well. I later text DH that the weekend is the last for the summer stuff and we'd actually get to see both.....he replies, tempting.

When he got home, he was back on "expensive." Still exhausted I give up at 11. He had his CC out to book something in the Dells. I check my email this morning since he always forwards reservations. Instead there is a hold for an AA flight to MCO. He used my miles. On the return--I'm in FIRST CLASS!!!!!

So, I have a T minus 50 minute wait until MS opens. I'm relatively sure I can get SSR. I hope I can get OKW and there is a small glimmer of BWV.

For last minute trips, that's about the pattern, right? In-laws own at BWV and just added on at BLT. I'm trying to be realistic and I am trying to let myself believe that there will be no availablility for any size room at any resort. But I can't help but be more optimistic (especially given the size of SSR).

As expected there is a 1 BR at SSR. We know we have no room to be picky.

Now DH just has to check with work. Aug. is such a slow month for them and he's been slow all summer.

Hopefully we'll have a plan by the end of the day.....

Not planning on too many ADRs, if any.

Spur of the moment trips are the best!

I've really considered doing an all counter service trip. Disney has come a long way in providing great quick food options. My new favorite is the quick service in France.

I got SSR for the whole stay!

There were a couple places we could do two nights and do a split stay. But that sounds like a pain.

Plus we're renting a car.

Now on to research.....
