I'm making my Christmas list for DH and I want a Crop A Dile. I really enjoyed using it at SDV this past year (thanks for sharing and teaching, Rebecca!).

Which one would y'all recommend - the original or the Big Bite?

I love my Crop-a-Dile original, but I admit that it does not work if you want to put eyelets any further than one inch in on a page. I don't know how big/small of eyelets the Big Bite does, that may be something to look into. The Crop-a-Dile original does two sizes (1/8th and 3/8ths, I think?)

I would say it might be worth it to get the Big Bite if it does both those sizes (or more), just for the reach that it gives you.

love my original, I don't really ever have a use to put eyelets in the center of the page. The original is also a little more portable, if you go to a lot of crops.

I like my original- I too don't tend to put eyelets in the middle of the page. I have heard some complaints about small eyelets being crushed by the big bite but that may be from user error- I know I messed up a couple when I did not have my settings correct.

I love my original, easy to bring to crops, however the big one goes way into a 12" page but is bulky.

Guess it depends how you are going to use it. Maybe you should get the big Bite and use our original one at the SDV crop.

I have the small one and it still mushes up eyelets sometimes - I think brands vary, I've had problems with shaped ones, and using small eyelets to fix felt to layouts:headache: But I wouldn't be without it:love: I'd like the large one but I can manage without;)

I have the original one and it does all that I need. If I need an eyelet towards the middle of a page, it's usually on a mat or a tag so I just put it on there before adhering that to the page.

Thanks ladies! Great info! DH reminded me last night to give him my Christmas list so I think I'll add the original to the list because I will want to bring it to crops and I love the pink :thumbsup2

My Walmart has these in the clearance section in the Craft section for $20. Either size Not sure if that is better than Michaels w/ coupon?? The original comes in a clear plastic box (carring case) with eyelets. I have been debating about which one to get so thanks for the post :) Think I'll go original too

I have both, and I was just thinking today (while in purge mode) that I should sell the big one. I don't use it much, I love my little one.

I've got the original as well....I love it!! Funny...mine was a gift from hubby too but for my birthday rather than Christmas.

I think I might actually prefer my larger version. Oddly enough, I mostly find myself using them to punch holes because they have great hole punches on them and being able to reach further in is great. Plus, the little thing you move on that one to mark where the paper bumps up to is much more effective and it's helpful to have the extra oomph from it standing on the table (you can take the feet off too if you want it to be less awkward in your hands). The small one has its uses too...it's much more portable and easier to grab if you need it for one or two little things. If you can get a good deal on the big one though, I'd recommend it because the small one costs less to begin with. I lucked out and ended up getting my big one for $5 brand new at Walmart about 6 months ago.
