I have seen a lot of people post that crocs are the most comfortable thing to wear in the parks and I am so confused. Aren't crocs plastic/rubber stuff? They don't rub blisters? Do your feet sweat? I'm willing to try them, but I just wouldn't have thought they would be better than my New Balance.

I haven't ever worn them because of my preconceived ideas, but I am willing to be a convert! ;)

Comment away!:dance3:

I have a few pair of Crocs ... love them ... they are comfortable ... but I don't wear them at the parks while at Disney. I find them to be slick when it rains. I prefer Teva or Reef flip flops ... they dry out really quickly when they get wet and your feet don't tend to sweat in them.

Love wearing Crocs at Disney. As PP said though, if the Crocs are older they do tend to slip if the pavement is wet. I've not had this problem with newer Crocs only my old ones.

I will be the first to say I do not love my crocs. I have worn them to Disney before and although I can not prove it I will always believe they are responsible for causing my 6 month ordeal with plantar fasciitis.

My crocs failed me. They hurt after a full day on them. I switched to my Keens on day 2 and never put those crocs on again. Best decision. My children had the same experience with their crocs and Keens. My husband swore he'd just wear his tennis shoes and was in his Keens by day 3.

WOW - neck and neck!

I had no idea this would be such a divisive topic. :scared1:

Last time I went, New Balance all the way and didn't have too much of a problem. I am Pooh sized and I don't really think I could walk the parks for days and not have some discomfort.

Thanks for all the responses. Keep 'em coming. ;)

I have worn Corcs to the parks, I have there wedges and a pair of heeled sandals. They both have about a three inch heels and I made it the whole day with them. Look at crock.com to see they are not just the ugly slip ons everyone thinks of when you hear Croc.

They were great for both my lil boys super fat feet !

They both have always and still wear an XW-XXW, which only 1 brand sells in baby shoes. And of course are like $60 a pair for lil 4 inch shoes :rotfl2:. Not only are their feet fat, they are also chubby in thickness.

But then I got to thinking, how to do parents with children that have regular size feet keep those on their kids feet. Seems like they'd have to get a size smaller or maybe the shoes just flop around alot.

Granted our kids started wearing them at like 10 months, so we did put socks on their lil piggies to add comfort and cushy-ness.

I would think the same as the OP, the plastic against the feet would make your feet sweat, and w/o socks to asborb, you would think they would get damp inside and slick outside when wet.

I have a pair of knock-off WalMart ones and I can't wear them more than a few hours, they seem to rub across the top of my foot and just don't seem to give any support at all :confused3

I, as well as my doctor, agree with you. When Crocs first came out I fell in love with them. I bought many pairs of the both the clog and flip flop styles and also bought a pair of the wooly mammoths . They were all I wore. As a nurse I wore the clog styles to work and the flip flops every where else. One trip to WDW my heel and arches started killing me. I went to my doctor when I came back and she referred me to a podiatrist. The first thing he asked was why the heck I was wearing those Crocs. When he found they were just about all I wore, he told me to trash every pair of them and get something that would support my arches and heels. I gave 23 pairs of the clog style to my daughter in law. Since she can't wear flip flops (as she can't stand anything between her toes), I threw 8 pairs of the flip flops away. It took me over a year to heal the plantar fasciitis. I had never had problems with my feet before. The plantar fasciitis still flairs up a little if I'm not careful with my shoes. I used to live barefooted, but no longer even walk across the floor without shoes on. Crocs ruined my feet and I feel so bad, because I used to recommend them so highly to everyone I met. In fact, if you do some old searches here on the DIS you''ll probably find some old threads where I recommended them as the perfect park shoe. Not any more though.

I am a NOT a believer of Crocs. I had a bad experience with them as well and they were quite painful on my knees, feet, and ankles. I will never buy them again. I know many people have great experiences with them, but I did not.

I'm not a fan of Crocs though do wear a pair around the resort and to the pool - never to the parks.

in my opinion crocs are the most comfortable thing to wear in disney world. :)
not only do your feet get air through the holes and the backs but you don't have to worry about your feet sweating. Also on rides such as Soaring you can leave your crocs on the ground and have the air between your toes. :rotfl:

In my experiance with crocs is that you don't have to worry about blisters and you could wear em in the pool (i think). but if u do get black crocs just know that your feet will be black. lol.

I personally don't like wearing Crocs. I have tried them on and it felt so uncomfortable. If I had a choice.... I would only wear them to the pool and back. When I go to the Parks I always wear sneakers, occasionally flip flops. But, alot of people are different. So my answer will be no for Crocs.

Last Sept, I saw 2 people [diff. parties] slip and fall right in front of me as they were running from the rain into the Journey into Imagination ride and both were wearing crocs. It reminded me of a story I had heard a few years back where hospitals had banned crocs because of health, slip & fall, and other reasons. Here's one article I found:

I personally like the dansko sandals--no lower back or knee pain!

Hope this helps!

I actually slipped on a bleach spill in the grocery store and fell (taking the cart down with me ... not fun). I'm a faller tho ... but I'm blaming this one on the Crocs. :lmao:
I was shocked when my youngest son said he wanted a pair ... like others said ... how the heck can little ones keep them on ... especially this kid who never stands still for a minute but somehow he does. He does wear his Crocs all the time at the parks.

Ugh...slipping & falling would definitely make me a "GrumpyMom" :goodvibes

Princess Sara's Mom has a point. I did in fact slip some parts when I did wear crocs. So i probably wouldn't suggest wearing them if your week calls for rain.
But if it doesn't I would wear em. Last year I wore my $29.00 shoes I got from Easy Spirits. They were backless but not crocs. THey were brand new when i brought them to Disney but by the end of the trip they looked like I had them for years. They did not hold up well, surprisingly. I was really shocked.

This was my first year trying crocs. I was able to wear them to all four parks for 10 days straight. No blisters. They were great.

My kids like crocs and I like them but they are not the only shoes we ware. I like my kids to ware shoes with arch support but sometimes crocs make more sense.
