I've heard through a man at the shoe store that the crocs corporation will be bankrupt by the end of September. He said if I need crocs I should get them now. Has any one else heard this or is it just a rumour?:confused3

I don't know about bankrupt but I did here that the shoes are now discontinued. So unless they manufacture something else that would spell bankrupt.

I just googled this. It appears that they are in some financial trouble but no real sign of bankruptcy. There shares went from $75 last fall to just under $2 as of May :scared1:

Interesting that they created a product that doesn't really wear out - I have 4 pair in different styles and since I paid $40 for each, they will last me quite a while (some are now 4 years old). The kids outgrew theirs before they wore out. It did suggest that they will try to develop new product to add to the line.

But given the information, I might slip out to my local National Sports and see about picking up a new colour JUST IN CASE!

Our Canadian Tire just cleared out all their stock about a month ago and have stopped stocking any type of Crocs. Hmmm......I am suspicious too! I have ordered directly from the US web site and had them shipped to Canada as they have had some great deals in the past couple of months! Not a good sign! :scratchin

My Dad is a news addict and he watches :happytv: every possible news program on. He told me last week that CROCS is going out and bankrupt. He must of seen it on the news.
I figured it was because with the economy people were all buying knock offs. But , I don't know I am only speculating.

I know I have bought my share of the CROCs brand. My DD only wants to wear them!! I think because it is so easy for little kids to put on and off.( I teach Kindergarten and I can honestly tell you-- Many kids don't know how to put on their runnning shoes because they have become so used to the ease of CROCS:rotfl: I know, they are still learning and it is common not to know how to do it yet... but I have noticed a bit of a steadier decline in preparedness with my "CROC kids". Just a little tidbit I noticed. I am not in anyway blaming the shoe or casting stones..... My own DS falls in this category too.

Yes it is true :( Apparently they have until September to pay a 20 million dollar loan or they are kaput!

Odd, I was in Sports Expert and I noticed they had all these new Crocs products including rain boots and "fancier" looking shoes. But I guess I just haven't relaly looked until then, maybe these have been around.

I think the knock-off thing is probably a very good probability. Although, at my mother's cottage we had a live side-by-side comparison between my Mickey crocs, and a paid of knock offs she had bought from the drug store, and the comfort was NO COMPARISON.

I did hear however that they are no longer mannufactured in Canada. So much for national fidelity.

I have a pair of Dawgs that are a million times more comfortable than Crocs. I got the flip flops and paid $30 for them on sale. I must say that I don't love the look but I have joint problems and need good shock absorbers under my feet. The Dawgs fit well and are very cushy.....I needed them for the WDW waterparks

I read the article...that would really be too bad. My family lives in Crocs.
I recently placed an order online that is taking a rather long time to be shipped. When I called Customer Service, I was told it was because they had just moved their warehouse. Why would you move your warehouse if bankruptcy was looming? Also, crocs.com has a new swanky look..they launched the new site a couple of weeks ago. Same question.
To be on the safe side though I might have to stock up on several pairs in the next sizes for my kids and some for me too! :woohoo:

I never got the whole crocs thing, they are ugly! Anyways last week on the news the company was trying to say that they're redesigning themselves & coming out with much more modern shoes that are better looking than crocs.

Everytime I walk down an aisle that has crocs the smell overwhelmes me to the point that I have to leave the aisle. I don't understand how people can put all that chemical smelling rubber on theirs & their kids feet?

I like the Croc flip flops, but their too wide and I can't wear them.

For a company in this much trouble, I have not found any sales. The sale prices on Softmoc and on the crocs sites are the prices I paid 3 years ago - $34.95 for the ugly big ones and $39.95 for the sandal/stylish or Mickey ones. No sell-offs or sales to be had.

I like the new fancy ladies ones - I miught have to try a pair on - Croc heals!! Imagine!! Perhaps I could add myself to the ding dongs who wear stilettos to WDW parks!
