Crocs with socks?

My DW swears by her Crocs. Last year her feet were hurting and hot while we were in AK, so we bought her some Crocs, and she swears by them. The Crocs outlet near us had a buy one-get one free, so we took advantage of it. I have size 12 shoe so they didn't have any Disney crocs, but we got my DS's Disney Crocs for free!!

Ok, I'll get to the point. I love the feel of mine, but I'm more comfortable wearing them with socks.

How bad are they to wear them with the low ankle socks? Fashion Fopar? Or should I not care and just be comfortable?

These are the crocs

DW says I will look like a dork, she is my best friend, that is why I want to prove her wrong. :rotfl2::lmao:

Opinions?

IMHO, you lose, unless you're German, in which case you wear white socks with every conceivable kind of footwear.

And look devastatingly handsome while doing it, I might add....

just do whats comfortable, thats what I think. thats what is most important, especially with all the walking that is done at WDW! you can always get some disney jibbitz!

It is never a fashion faux pas to be comfortable.

I wore short white socks with my pink crocs and walked comfortably all day.

Just the fact that I wear Crocs makes me look like a dork...but when it comes to 12-hour Disney days I really don't care. At WDW I subscribe to the theory that it's better to feel good than look good. That being said...I wear Crocs to work (and any place else I can get away with it). At work I have to wear socks. They get annoying after a while. Sometimes they twist a bit, and sometimes they creep down, and sometimes they get irritating after a while on the bottoms of my toes. Crocs and no socks? Supreme comfort. I can wear them forever and they feel nothing but good.

I would sooooooo wear Phineas and Ferb Jibbitz, especially Perry!!

He's a semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action,
He's a furry little flatfoot who never flinched from afraid,
He's got more than just mad skill,
He's got a beaver tail and bill,
And the women swoon whenever they hear him say.
*platypus sound, ladies faint*
He's Perry,
Perry the Platypus!

Oh No!!
You're one of Those:

"Croc'er Sockers"
:scared1:

I almost always wear my crocs with socks. (short footie ones)
I am a dork tho...
Actually the tops of my feet are so sensative that I get blisters if I don't wear socks with every pair of shoes/sandals that I wear for more than a couple of minutes. It's a good thing DH is fashion challenged, so he doesn't realize he's out with a dork

I think the socks you have chosen would look fine (and are a good choice), I mean we're talking crocs here, not manolos!

I don't know, crocs with socks is always gonna be a little dorky, but I think your combo looks close to not-dorky!

That said, who cares? Disney is one place where foot comfort has really got to trump fashion, no? How great is it that a bunch of people think your shoes are cool if you are hobbling around with blisters and sore feet? ;)

My poor precious DH grandly underestimated the sheer foot abuse his first trip to Disney was going to be. He ended up in awful pain, and finally gave in and bought a pair of Mickey crocs at HS. He wore them for the rest of the trip and they saved him. He now wears them pretty much all the time. With socks. Everyone teases him about them, but they are sorta his trademark! When DD and I went without him in Feb, we were under strict orders to get him another pair. Then when I told him about the online buy-one-get-one, he was all over it. Dorky, maybe, but it's all in the way you rock them!!!! :thumbsup2

I do it in the winter! I'm a Croc'er Sock'er! But I'm also a bit of a dork. But yes, comfort trumps fashion anyday. And seriously, it's WDW. It's like a dork Mecca.

DH will only wear his Crocs with socks... and yes, white ones. :scared1: ;)

You know what though? You're at Disney and comfort is key when it comes to your feet.

As for the comfort aspect...
I wear my Crocs right up until the snow gets over the backs in these parts, so I put socks on with them during spring/fall. I find my Crocs quite comfortable with socks - maybe even a little more than usual as my feet don't slide around in them as much. :thumbsup2

I live in Nebraska and I wear my Crocs year round. In the winter I will put on socks as a necessity. I will also wear socks with my Mammoth Crocs in the winter.

All other times of year I wear without socks or my Crocs flip flops.

At WDW I have brought socks in my backpack in case my feet get sore. I have found though that they tend to blister more with socks than without becuase the wrinkles in the socks will cause the blister.

Whatever way is most comfortable for you is the best way to go at WDW. Who cares if you look dorky. Everyone looks dorky to some degree at WDW, we're called tourists! LOL! You'll never see any of those people again anyway so who cares!

My husband ALWAYS wears socks with his crocs. I think he looks great because he isn't limping and his back and feet don't hurt. This puts him in a super mood which makes him much more attractive to me!!

Hey why does it matter? If they are more comfortable with socks wear them. I think that combo is cool anyway.
I love my crocs, and will wear them with socks if it is a bit cold out. So what, they are my feet and I will do what is comfortable.
Besides, ever see those guys with the pants falling down around their ankles? That is a dork look and yet no one says a thing. :rotfl:

It almost wouldn't be a forum without a differing opinion. ;)
If you own crocs and like them and you're a guy (shudder) I have to say it would be silly not to wear them.

That said; as for me...

Not in a box.
Not with a fox (not even Honest John or Robin Hood)
Not in a house.
Not with a mouse. (and we are talking about a mouse here!)
I would not wear them
here or there.
I would not wear them anywhere.
I would not wear those crocs footwear;
not even if Tim here bought me a pair.

Nope. Not gonna do it. Too many other choices.

[Rodney Dangerfield voice] But they look great on you![/Rodney Dangerfield voice]

All in fun. Enjoy! That is the most tasteful combination of crocs and socks I've seen. And I'm stopping here.:rolleyes1

As mot of the guys in the DIS Unplugged Fantasy Football League know, I have worn Socks With Crocs (SWC), and yes, I get teased for it :)

But it was mostly to help keep the Crocs from rubbing off the moleskin I was using to try and prevent further damage to my feet caused by my sneakers. I pretty much get blisters the moment I walk on to Disney property... :(

Want to know what happens when you wear Disney Crocs with no socks? OK, I'll tell you...you get a bunch of Mickey shaped tanned images on the tops of your feet.

Then you might have to (like I did) explain to your podiatrist what those weird shaped, almost florescent, mouse head marks are on your feet and you can get some very strange looks.

That is the absolute truth, but, seriously I like wearing them without socks but they actually hurt my feet over extended periods of time without them. Those ridges cut into the bottoms and my feet sweat like crazy. So, fashion or no fashion, it is Crocs with Socks for me.
