We are going to Disney World the 20th thru the 27th of May and my daughter wanted me to ask you fine folks which would be better for walking around the park? Thanks in advance. :earsboy:

Good question. I, too, was wondering. The Tevas I saw that I like have an open toe, which is easier for someone to step on. OUCH! :sad2:

Hope to have some good responses! I already have my CROCS and love them, but have heard great things about the Tevas. Anyone know which one they prefer? :flower:

Well I love my tevas-have not worn crocs so I can only speak from Teva perspective. Looking at Crocs I would think the big difference is how cool your feet feel in tevas(being in plastic sounds warm to me but I could be wrong. Also thinking about the looks of crocs with shorts :earseek: my Tevas work with skirts even(they are black with a purple design-love them) I am tempted tp try the crocs for springtime wearoing around here, but don't think I want to wear them in FL in July. 1 vote for Tevas
edit to add that in the past 3 years we have been during the busiest time of year, my toes have never been stepped on.

I vote for Teva's too, Pretty Rugged leather to be exact. I think the crocs are too sweaty and it doesn't come in enough sizes. Crocs are also slippery when wet!

It also can depend on which Teva sandals you are comparing them to. My Pretty Ruggeds have lots of cushioning and shock absorption but not all Teva's do.

IMHO.

Boy, do you have good timing! I'm going to WDW May 13th-22nd. A couple of months ago I bought Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals, Teva Mush flip flops, and Teva Olowaha flip flops. I'm not a flip flop person. I never could stand the thingy between the toes, but the piece between the toes on both the Mush and Olowahus are both so soft and turned kinda sideways so they're very comfortable. I thought I had found the perfect shoes for my trip. I wore them everyday to walk my dog and everytime I went shopping to make sure they would be broken in for WDW. No break in time was really needed because they were comfortable from the time I first put them on.

Then I read the thread here about Crocs and just thought they were the ugliest shoes I had ever seen. Then about a month ago, while in the mall one day (wearing my Olowahu flip flops) I saw some Crocs at Hallmarks and some more at Wild Birds Unlimited. I had to try a pair on just to see what all the fuss was about. That may have been a mistake. I bought two pairs that day (a pair of the Beach style and a pair of the Nile sandals). I've started alternating them with my Tevas everyday and now can't decide which ones to carry to WDW. All five are so much more comfortable than any of my other shoes. I usually walk several miles per day, by the way.

If I had to pick only two pairs though it would probably be the Teva Mush flip flops and the Croc Nile sandals. Hey, the Mush flip flops were only $17.99 and the Croc Niles were only $29.99. For that price I would buy both and then decide. The only Tevas I've found that are uncomfortable are the Hurricanes. They're a cheaper model of the sandals and just don't have the support the Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals do.

By the way, the Niles don't make your feet look near as big as the Beach models in the Crocs.

I'm anxious to hear other people's replies to this thread, especially the ones who have worn both all day in the parks.

I'll be bringing my Airwalk Croc knock offs for sure!

I just read a thread suggesting Teva Mush flip-flops, so I plan on buying them and trying them out beofre I take them.

Sandals are a HUGE deal, aren't they?? We all want to be comfortable with all our walking. I'm so glad to see that others are as concerned as I am because I feel I'm getting so much good info on these boards!!!!

I'm going thru a similar dilema.... last October, I wore my Nike's to the parks and for the first time in my life I got blisters on my feet. I had worn these sneakers before at Disney and I had on a pair of very comfortable socks :confused3 , so, I have no idea why I got the blisters. The temperatures were in the 80's most days. I decided that for my upcoming trip is 22 days ( :cool1: ) I will leave my sneakers at home. So far, I have bought:

- A pair of Crocs, they are very comfortable, but, they make my feet sweat. I read that some people apply antiperspirant in order to avoid sweaty feet, so, I will try that, I am definately taking them.

- A pair of Born leather thongs. Also, very comfortable, I have worn them to the mall and my feet feel like I'm walking on silk.

_ A pair of Teva Mush flip flops. After reading all the reviews ( Thanks, Aubriee :wave2: ) I decided I was going to order a pair of these. I ordered them a few days ago, so, I cannot tell you my opinion at this point.

For the first time ever, I'm not taking sneakers, I have been in May before and I know it gets very HOT!! So, my feet are going to be very exposed, I can only hope that no one steps on them!!! :goodvibes

I have a pair of Tevas (sorry, don't know the style, but they're the "typical" sandal that you think of with Tevas) and they are very comfortable. However, I wonder about wearing them all day because they're not very "cushy" in the sole. I imagine the sole would feel hard and unyielding after 8 hours.

I also have a pair of Crocs. Also very comfy. And more cushy, which will be good after hours in the park. But...my feet do sweat in them a little bit. Not so with the Tevas. In the end though, I think I'll pick comfort/cushiness over a little sweat and wear the crocs.

I have never put on Crocs... I rarely take off my Tevas. :)

I vote for Tevas. I wear them almost exclusively. I have never had a problem with someone stepping on my feet. They are very comfortable and do well wet or dry.

I haven't tried Tevas.

I just got a pair of the sandal style Crocs which are very cute and very comfortable. It's like walking on marshmallows. The sandal style are much cuter than the other style of Crocs(IMO) and would look very nice with shorts.

I got a pair of basic Tevas last summer hoping to wear them during our trip to WDW. Not realizing how much variation there was between styles,I made the mistake of not purchasing the Pretty Ruggeds. I never wore my Tevas for more than short walks. They made my feet burn. They still do, in fact. Total waste of money for me. So - if you go for Tevas, get the high-end ones.

I have weird feet. The only shoes I can get on with are CROCS! They have changed my park touring life!!

Wore my TEVa stratums at our local youth fair 4-5 hours and was miserable. Wore my Beach CROCs for 2 days at WDW in March and was so happy. I had brought my New balance sneaks and never took them out of the bag.My question is has anyone tried TEVa Spoilers 2. I just got them at Ross for $19.99 and I do not know if they are the type with the extra cushioning for walking sandals or the not so good types. I am considering trying them out on our next trip but they will have to be extra perfect to displace CROCs as my new WDW shoe.

For those of you wearing tevas or other types of sandal-like footwear, don't forget to apply sunscreen to the exposed parts of your feet. I forgot at Universal the first day we were there earlier this month and the tops of my feet got a little sunburned!

Teva used to refer to that as the "mark of a free spirit". :)

I admit, I have a funny looking "Teva tan".

I just bought the Musg Teva flip-flops after comments on this and other threads! I plan to test them before our trip! I love the fact that they are so light!

Do buy the teva's online or in the store?

I just got my Crocs a few weeks ago and love them. I also have two pairs of Teva flip-flops which I have worn on two trips to WDW and did very well with them. I don't own the Teva sandals with the straps, so I can't comment on them.
On my upcoming trip, I'll be taking my Crocs and Tevas.

Me, too. The Tevas I have are molded, not flat. I bought my DD the flat ones (foot bed is flat) and she hates them, so get the molded foot bed. And Teva Mush flip flops are like buffs of air on your feet!

Just back (4/15-4/24) I alternated mainly bewteen Teva (Rugged) and Crocs (Nile)
I didn't find the Nile's too sweaty after the first couple days of breaking them in at home. I did get a blister this time (first time in 12 trips) but since I had several pairs of sandals with me that hit in that spot, I have no idea which was the culprit.

The Niles were very comfy & didn't look too weird with shorts. I'm sitting here in a pair of bright red Beaches & to heck with looking cute, these babies are COMFORTABLE. I wear them everywhere. If people are looking at me funny, I don't notice it, nor do I care.....

I've been wearing the Teva ruggeds for the past 6 years & will always bring them to WDW.

My vote is bring both & alternate..... Crocs hold a slight advantage on comfort for me.
