Crocs Scutes Question

I think I have finally broken down and will purchase Crocs! However, not the type with the closed toe (I am not sure I can go that far yet). I have always liked to wear sports sandals aka "shower shoes" - the kind with just the band across the front of your feet - but have had a really hard time finding comfortable ones lately and they always end up smelling pretty bad after some time. I have some Reeboks now but they rub the top of my feet. When I had comfortable sports sandals, I wore them every day (with socks in the winter)!
So, I saw that Crocs has the Scutes model. Does anyone have these? Can anyone give me a review? Also, how do Crocs fit in general - do they run big, small? I am a half size so do I order up or down? On the crocs.com site they recommend that the inside of the shoe not touch your feet (for the models with closed toes), but isn't that impossible for Scutes to stay on your feet? I tried to call their customer service for info but was told there was a waiting time of >30min. I figured I would get great info here!

Personally, I think that it is safe to assume that you already have numerous pairs of shoes and should probably use that money to buy your husband a nice gift as a thank you for the surprise room service breakfast that he treated you to while in WDW for Mother's Day.

I believe that I read somthing about how wonderful that was on one of the other threads in here.

PS - before anyone gets mad at me for being a jerk for assuming that she already has numerous pairs of shoes, I'm the wonderful husband.

I figured that out after the first sentence.

(sorry, I don't have info on the Scutes. I only have the Athens (flipflops) and the Mary Janes & Cayman's will be delivered by UPS to my office today. I'm new to the whole Croc's thing too).

Ok, so I have a soft spot for shoes - but at least I'm talking about Crocs here...instead of the sport sandals and flip flops, I prefer, I could develop a penchant for Manolos or Jimmy Choos! So there, wonderful DH!!!

I have a pair of the Scutes. I wear the Caymans in a size 9 - my usual size for shoes. I ordered the Scutes in a 9 also. They fit fine - maybe a tiny bit long if anything. I have really wide feet, so I was concerned that they would be too narrow across my foot, but they are not. You are right - they would have to touch your foot in that style or they would not stay on.
I do not find them quite as comfortable as my regular style crocs, but they are a comfortable shoe. If you are used to wearing that athletic sandal style, I bet you would like them.

ETA: I have not tried them walking any long distances (like for example at Disney), so I can't speak to how comfy they would be in that situation...

Sorry for the slight hijack here, where did you find the Mary Janes? I kind of want a pair but I can't find a picture or anything anywhere. I tried the crocs site but I didn't have any luck. Maybe I'm missing something? lol TIA

The little cutie button type things that you can get to decorate your Crocs
are cheaper at Dicks Sporting goods that at Journeys. They are $ 12 at J's but $8.99 at DSG- Just thought you might like to know-

I can't help you with the Crocs question, but can I just say how jealous I am that you have a DH who is just as into Disney as you are.

I bought Scutes for my DH and my dad. Both in their regular street shoe size, and they both have wide feet. Both agree that they are some of the most comfortable shoes ever.

Crocs in general, I have 3 pairs. All are in my street shoe size. If anything, they do run a little bit big.

Arrrghhhh! I'm kicking my self in the a$$ now as we speak. I wish I would have known about the scutes before I bought my Athens. I like them(ATHENS) but I would have prefered the Scutes. The only complaint I have is that the athen seem like they are always going to fall off my foot. I use them and they are very comfy,I wear them daily around the house and to the store, but I went out and bought a cheap pair of Tevas from Dicks for $40 and they are one of the most comfy shoes I have ever had. But it really depends on the person wearing them.

I bought the Croc Scutes and love them. I wear an 8 1/2 and ordered a 9. I have a wide foot and was afraid they would be too narrow., but they're not. They are actually a little wider, so my foot doesnt' touch the sides. Also, they stay on my feet really good. My feet don't slip out of them. They're so soft and spongy. They're great. I ordered navy blue, and wish they would come out with a tan or khaki color. That would match more of my clothes. I don't own any other Crocs, so I can't tell you about them. They didn't fit me right. Oh I forgot to tell you that when I first got them, the top of one of the shoes rubbed a little, so I put it in the dryer for about a minute and then pulled up on it. Perfect!!!. Good luck.

when the Mj's arrive can you let us know how comfy they are..they look really cute, as do the Prima's but I would be nervous about them not being as comfy as the other crocs.
I just bought my first pair...a pair of beach and a pair of Athens..I am THRILLEDwith the athens.Im a bit worried about th beach..the one in my size are too small but the ones the next size up feel a bit too big...is that normal ?
