I have to be honest here.... I think crocs are about the dorkiest looking shoes ever :lmao: I have never worn them, but looking at the photo of them, it seems like your feet would be incredibly hot in that plastic stuff and that the back strap would wear a blister on your heel in no time. But, people swear by them and I just need to know why?

Convince me of why I should have these shoes for touring WDW. I have Tevas, which I adore and have never given me a moment's trouble. Are the crocs better?

Dorky factor aside, they really are awesome for walking around WDW all day. There are many, many other Croc wearers walking around in them, so you won't feel too geeky. I brought 4 different pairs for our January trip, and actually got lots of compliments on my pink Disney ones!! I felt kinda funny in them at first (most of mine are dark, non standout colors), but they really grew on me. DD8 and I have several matching pairs- we got lots of cute comments while at WDW with our matching Ts and Crocs.

I got my first pair almost 2 years ago- was skeptical about wearing them at WDW. I figured, how could a little plastic shoe be comfortable? THEY ARE WONDERFUL!!! I am a Pooh sized gal, and have ankle/foot issues. Every time I have been to WDW, I end up with numbness in my feet/legs, swollen ankles, blisters, and just general foot pain and yuckiness. Well, no more!! Crocs are like walking on marshmallows encased in fluffy clouds - I never had blisters. I never got swollen. I never got numb legs. I had tired feet at the end of the day, but not achy, sore, can't-stand-on-'em feet.

Try some out- they are inexpensive, and you can wear them around the house if nothing else. Give them a shot- you might find your next pair of WDW shoes.

Thanks! You are very convincing since I am also pooh-sized and have had trouble with swollen ankles. I will probably get some for that reason. btw... I'm also a mom-of-a-Katie :flower3:

Oh, does anybody know where I can get lime green crocs?

Cool! I have always loved the name Katie- is yours a Katherine, Kathleen, Katelyn, or something else? Mine is Katherine.

Yup- I sound like a big, dorky Crocs cheerleader, I know ;) - but they really have been wonderful for me. I used to have a real love/hate relationship with WDW, because of all the walking- I hated the thought of all the pain and misery after a week of trudging through Disney. Now, I actually look forward to going- I can enjoy the parks without worrying about my feet.

One piece of advice- get BodyGlide!! It is an anti blister/ anti chafing stick you can rub on your feet- it is the best!! The BodyGlide and Crocs combination have saved my feet many times at WDW.

I haven't seen lime green Crocs too much at any stores- I like to order directly from Crocs.com. There are several other online shoe sellers who have Crocs, too- I think ShoeBuy is one, Zappos.com is another.

Good luck with your Crocs adventure- we'll suck you in to the cult!!!

I have been a cheerleader for Tevas because they have been good to me in the same way, but I'm going to give crocs a try.

I looked at the crocs website earlier this morning and only saw black, red, pearl and pick in the Disney style. I didn't check the other styles.

Hey, what's one more cult? Next thing you know I'll be wearing lime green and giving weird hand gestures....

Question about the croc sizes here. After reading all about them I was able to find some at a swimsuit shop in the local mall. They are sized s/m/l. I normally wear a ladies size 8 in runners/sandals/etc and the clerk said try medium. They were HUGE on me. So tried the small. Much better but my toe was right at the end and I'm thinking that's not so good. Is there maybe a different style that might be better for me? I'm open to advice!

mirthmaiden- the Disney Crocs only come in Lime green in kids' sizes. The adult sizes are in the 4 color combos you saw. The Beach or Cayman models come in Lime. The Croc flip flops are also good (I have a pair, but don't wear them much- I have a between-the-toe- issue).

Marion- Crocs Beach model are sized S,M,L- but the Cayman model are a bit slimmer and they are actually sized like normal. The fit is supposed to be very roomy- the official statement is that they are not supposed to touch your foot all the way around. I personally like them a bit more fitted. I wear a 7 1/2, and I get the S (6/7). I don't like them to feel like they are flopping around on my feet. Try the Caymans, though- they feel less "sloppy" on the foot.

OK, I did it. I ordered a pair of Lime green Cayman's for me, and Lime green Beach for Katie (she'll probably freak out since she's at the age when "cool" is everything and she loves blue... so we'll see  I thought it would be nice to do the mother/daughter thing :cutie: Kind of disappointing that they don't do the "Disney" style in more colors. I'd buy a bunch of them if these are as good as you say. Now I just need to wait for the next 5 months to go by so I can test them :rolleyes1

Just another question about crocs. Do you wear them with socks? I think this would add to the "dorky" look and if I tried them (I am a guy), I think I would wear them without socks. Does this cause "slippage" issues when its hot and sweaty. I am going to Disney in the summer (first summer trip). TIA.

I got some disney ones for my dd but am still hesitant for myslef. We are going in August. Do they make your feet sweat a lot? Do they get stinky?

Not sure about crocs in the parks, but as kick around the house/running errands/garden shoes, they are great. They can be worn without the straps (great for going outside and feeding the dogs, etc.), or with the straps. I like being barefoot, and crocs are about the next best thing to being barefoot.

I wear my Crocs without socks when it is above 50 degrees- believe it or not, I don't get sweaty feet in them! During the winter, I will wear them with socks, but I agree- the "Dork Factor" goes way up with socks.

For WDW walking, I apply Bodyglide first (but not on the bottoms of my feet- just around the toes and on the sides/heels), then let it set for a few minutes. I then put on my Crocs and I'm good to go for the day. I don't get any "slippage"- but I did notice that the one pair I bought that fits more loose than I normally buy does tend to be a bit "slide-y" when it gets hot outside.

No smelly feet issues for me- the material is completely sealed, so odors can't soak in like they do with tennies. If your Crocs get a bit smelly, just rinse them off in the sink or with a hose and let them air dry. They'll be good as new.

Yeah that! LOL

I can't believe I"m admitting this but my feet sweat a lot, consequently, they stink... My crocs don't stink at all and I wear them all.the.time at home and around the neighborhood. That is supposed to be one of their selling points, I believe.

When I first saw Crocs on a trip to CO I thought man they are ugly! They finally came to SC a few years ago and thanks to these boards, I broke down and bought a pair. Now, they are about the only thing I do wear.

Yes youre feet do get hot in them, and when they get wet they slip and squeak. But man are they comfy! I brought them to WDW as a back up pair and instead wore my New Balanace tennis shoes. By the end of the first day, I had blisters, sore legs, sore feet and a sore back. The Crocs went on the next day and other than sweaty feet, I loved them. Now they are the only shoes I wear at WDW. I was just there last week and not once did my feet or anything else hurt. They are easy to clean and dry out fast should they get wet.

By the way, I got a pair of the Payless knock-offs last year because of the cool tie dye look. They are not as comfy as the original Crocs. I have never been able to wear flip flops because of the toe thing, but I love the Crocs flip flops. Im holding out for a Disney themed pair (Pirates, or other) due out soon I hope. Also, check out their website as they have new styles coming out tomorrow which look really cute. My son got a pair of Mickey ones and loves them. As soon as my daughters feet are big enough, she will get a pair!

I was a HUGE crocs sketpic. I bought some disney crocs recently to try them out. I've been wearing them around the house and when I go out to run errands on the weekends. I hate to admit it, but for as ugly as they are, they sure are comfy. I will say this, though, as someone that has a narrow foot, I am finding the disney crocs a bit wide. This also could be because I'm not used to how crocs are supposed to fit. Either way, I say go for it and try out the crocs. If all else fails, you have a good pair of shoes for when you have to run outside real fast to check the mail, take out the trash, etc. I know I plan to use mine on days I go snowboarding.

They feel like you're wearing slippers. I just bought 2 new pairs, one being my first Disney pair!!

I am a nurse and wear those a lot of days. I have heel spurs and these dorky looking shoes are wonderful. I dont care about the looks as long as my feet do not hurt all day. My kids also wear them and love them. We own about 10 pair between me and my 2 sons. I wear socks in the winter but not in the summer. I did wear the 'no show' socks at disney last year.
