I helped host a retirement party for my dad last night. After talking with a former co-worker, I stood up to get something to drink only to see that he was wearing blue Crocs!!! I shouted out, "Hey, you have Crocs on!" and everyone was like, "What???" So he told me the story of how his nephew was out in Colorado and was given a pair. Then his nephew's whole family had them and then it spread to his family. He said he's had them for two weeks and worn them everywhere. The only thing he doesn't like is that the started to wear already on the bottom of one of his heels. He teaches and he wears them everyday to class! He said he's got close to 50 family members (they have a HUGE extended family) wearing Crocs!!! Now my dad is interested because he wants a shoe that's "air conditioned" with holes!!!

I felt like I was the only one who knew about them around here only because I've researched them from hearing about them on these boards! Guess the craze has moved this way!

Some of my students have these and I just don't get them. The ones I have seen have been fluorescent yellow and the like.

I finally saw these today at the mall. Rubber clogs, are they Crocs? Rubber clogs??? They look like the things I used to see in gardening magazines to wear while gardening because you can wash them off.

I think they are so ugly. I haven't tried them on but they do look like gardening shoes! ::MinnieMo

OK-- I am usually up on different trends, but this is one I have never quite understood...untill I tried them on. I didn't buy any, but they are so comfy!! I keep thinking about getting some after I tried them on.

They only have the Beach model EVERYWHERE but I really want the Niles. I think I will just have to grab them online because the six closest retailers near me only sell the Beach ones.

I really wanted to try them on first :)

I just got my Niles delivered last week and I love them...they're SO comfortable!! Can't wait to try them out next week at WDW!!

Crocs do have a material, that has a level of squish, that leads a comfort level (at least for standing) that is better than any other shoes I have owned.

However, they just don't get the foot shape right. I don't think that their engineering standards are very high either.

The beach model has a width that is too wide for the length.
I can make these work, by wearing two pairs of socks.

However, the other model (I don't know the exact name) may have tried to address this problem, but only narrowed the area near the toes, and left the back just as wide. The result, is a shoe too narrow in the front, and too wide in the back.
These are the ones where my toes stick out the front. My little toe really hurts the way it is squished in.
The length and back width are right.

As my beach model is starting to form to my foot, the parts of my foot where there is not as much weight on the shoe (such as my front toe) are starting to push up, and a blister started to form on my front toe.
But I have had a similar problem with some insoles, which I was able to trim away (near my front toe) and make work.
I think that the company needs to make shoe insoles out of this material..

I do not think the beach shoe is ugly, I like the bright colors and over sized feet look.

I like that the shoes can be easily rinsed and dried off. They are better then my current plastic garden shoes.

Because I had been wearing these shoes (to insure they would work) the week before I left for WDW, and had already started to form blisters, I did not bring these shoes to WDW with me.

Just to let everyone know that you can get Crocs knockoffs at Payless under the name Airwalks. They come in limited colors (light blue, pink and black), but are half the brice of Crocs beach model. You can also get them on-line and have them shipped free to a Payless store near you. They also come in kids sizes, so I orderd a pair for DD for our trip.

I bought a pair to try, and while I do find them ugly, they are the most comfortable shoes I have. They are extremely light, and although VERY roomy (you may want to get a size smaller than usual), they do not fall off my feet.

I will definately will be taking these on my first ever trip to the World in June.

I LOVE my Airwalks!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Yes, they are not quite attractive and look like clogs...but comfort some times has to come before beauty. I have been wearing mine everywhere lately...even on a 3.5 mile powerwalk to really test them....and I had nooooo problems what-so-ever. I bought them on recommendation from the Crocs thread from this forum. I've got a black pair and it feels like walking on air...the roominess allows for extra comfort...especially if your feet swell and they can be worn with socks. Mine don't fall off either with the strap.

It's like an addiction!! :rotfl: I started out with 1 black pair and now I have 6 more in other colors!!I work in an elementary school and the kids love seeing them!!I even got my son a pair to wear for camp while in the shower or by the pool. They are sooo comfy :cloud9: and they are definitely going to Disney with me ::yes:: Now my only problem is how many and what colors to pack?Decisions,Decisions  :headache:

I got so excited to see someone wearing them in my small hometown this morning! I had to tell her that I was glad I wasn't the only one wearing them! :teeth:

I have 1 pr of black Airwalks, and the purple Croc's that I searched high & low to find a dealer an hr away! Now, I hear that the casino near me has them, and I'll be able to get them 1/2 off (pays to have friends/family in VERY low places!! :rotfl: )! (Sorry to get sidetracked...I'm a disgruntled ex-employee of the casino! ) But, I'm excited about Croc's being here though! WOOHOO!!! :flower:

OK....I want to try Crocs.....where can I get them? Our Hallmark only has the beach style and I definately want the other style.

You can also do a store search on the Crocs website to see if there's any stores locally that sell them. There's only 1 store in my area that sells the Niles - the rest sell the clog style only. I ended up buying my Niles online because they were cheaper plus EF has free shipping.

How funny - I just read an article in our local newspaper today about crocs -I had never heard of them and now twice in one day??!!??

We just got back from DW and so far I only saw 1 person wearing what I think were Crocs. They had them in a store at the Orlando Premium Outlets. The style that runs S,M,L. They looked really big to me. Even the Small was too big for me. :confused3

Croc's are made out of Resin it's cell are closed so smells and bacteria can affect the shoe. And they are reported to be the most comfortable shoe since Teva and Brek's were made. They sell crock socks that either match the holes or coordinate with the color of your shoe! It's a must see thing.

I just returned from a trip to Denver and on the way out I saw a whole family with these 'funky' shoes on....then in Denver I saw them ALL OVER! I thought - what am I missing????

When I returned I took my son to Sports Authority and saw the display...the rack was all but empty and the salesman (who was a young guy) said they couldnt keep them in stock!!!! Everyoen is buying them - he said.

Now that I read a little more on them - I understand the reason everyone was wearing them - before I thought ----these are ugly!!! But I am one of comfort---I am going to go the websites you all listed and check them out.

Can get a good fit without trying them on?

TIA!

I would try them on to be sure.

Crocs just invaded our Hallmark!!!! I had JUST bought another pair of the Payless version just minutes before! I got a size 8, but when I really book it, one of my big toes gets kinda smooshed at the tip of the shoe so I bought a 9. Then as I traveled over to Hallmark, I see the Crocs display they just got in last week. I tried a Large on and it fit OK (I wear a 9 1/2) but when I walked faster, it bunched up about two inches below the big toe and I could just see a blister forming if I were to wear them for an extended period of time. IMHO....the knockoffs fit better, are slightly more comfy...and are cheaper. So I will be staying with the knockoffs now that I have experienced the original Crocs!!!
