Is it a stupid idea to put my kids in Crocs while at the parks? Or should I just stick with tennis shoes? Anyone have thoughts on this?? :confused3

When we were there in September, the whole family wore Crocs. My dh thought I was crazy to mention wearing Crocs while walking around all day. The first day he wore tennis shoes and his feet hurt. The next day, he wore his Crocs and no problems. So, he wore his Crocs the rest of the trip. Never heard any complaints from my kids either. In fact, my youngest DD decided to wear her bright Yellow Mickey crocs with her Cinderella Dress at BBB because they were more comfortable!

Both my kids wore crocs for our last trip, no complaints, no blisters....very comfortable!

All Crocs, all the time. Socks in the morning if it's cool, or in the afternoon if you have a little friction. Water rides, take off the socks. Crocs Rock.

.

Here is another croc question can you buy Disney Crocs in any of the parks? Just incase I can't find a pair? I am thinking my Niece and I will want to have crocs while the rest of the family doesn't think it is a smart idea for Disney! I am going to wait to say I told you so to all of them when they say their feet hurt. Then if We can buy a pair in the park I can tell them where to get a pair.

We have been able to buy mickey crocs in the parks on past trips; you can also get them from the crocs website. My kids only wear crocs on their disney trips; they're perfect for water rides and the "occasional" afternoon shower lol. I always carry a pair of socks for everybody just in case you get a little hot spot in the afternoon.

Great Idea carry a pair of socks. I will go and look on crocs website!:cool1:
I hope you can still buy a pair in the parks.

I agree carrying the socks is a good plan. I think I will be trying the crocs. of course both kids need a new pair before the trip! :-)

Crocs are the only shoes my kids and I will wear at Disney. I agree they are great for water attractions and rain showers. My boys (6 and 4- the oldest won't go near Crocs :) ) NEVER get blisters or complain about sore feet. I always bring an extra pair for myself (for long trips) that I can switch out each day. One day I'll wear my Beach Crocs, the next day my Mary Janes, and I too NEVER have blisters or sore feet/legs. My DH always complains of sore feet/calves by the third day and my response is always the same. "Shoulda worn Crocs!"

If you and kids aren't used to wearing Crocs a lot, I'd bring tennies or sandals in case the Crocs don't work out. THey just don't work for some folks.

We used ME last trip. 2 of my boys broke their sandals in the airport. (have no idea how this happened to 1, no less 2 of them) Anyhow, we arrived and DH plus one son went of the St pet's to see a baseball game. The other 3 and I took ME over to the Poly. Of course our stuff wasn't there and, being the first day of our first trip, we wanted to do someting.

So we ventured out to get new flip flops or something to tide them over prior to our stuff getting there. We ended up with crocs. By te next morning the other two had them and that is all they wore the entire 3 weeks!! They never toook their sneaks out of their suitcases!

Total Croc family at Disney..all of us..all the time. I would hate to be without Crocs for my kids at Disney. I can already imagine the complaints about sore/hot feet/blisters! Yikes! I'm actually buying everyone two pair for this trip, since I know everyone loves them so much!

the crocs website has the disney crocs on sale go to the Outlet tab. I paid $14.99 for the kids crocs 2 days ago. Limited sizes

My son loves his knockoff crocs. My daughter has never had a pair on yet (too young) but I plan on having her in them too. Personally for myself, I prefer my Tevas.

We will be bringing socks for the kids just in case. My son wore his all last year with no problems but you never know.

I just wanted to add that I also love the ease of putting Crocs on while at WDW- for myself and especially for the kids! Takes my kids 2 or 3 minutes at least to get their socks and tennies on- WITH a lot of whining and complaining. Crocs are on in a couple seconds and leave my kids happy and ready to go while at Disney. The only time they'd rather wear their tennis shoes is when they know they'll be running a lot or at our local park where the play equipment sits on the rubber recycled tire pieces because the pieces get into the side holes of their Crocs and that is a real pain!
Have fun at Disney OP!

Crocs are perfect for Disney . Disney was the first place my family actually bought Crocs , two years ago and we have been hooked ever since . I will tell you though if your kids or yourself want to decorate your Disney Crocs with the jibbitz , they do not stay in the Crocs with the Mickey Heads on them very well , my kids lost all there jibbitz the first year due to this so we bought them just the plain Crocs w/ round holes on them and have never lost one jibbitz since .

Love my Crocs! DH was the first to test them out on our first trip in 2006, as he has foot and back pain when walking a lot. He wore them constantly on the trip, and did not complain once. DD and I bought Mary Janes (I find them cuter and more "girly" than the Beach or Caymans) and used them on our trip to DLR this summer. Not one blister or complaint...and we spent 14 hours per day, walking around in the hot sun. As mentioned, they are great for water rides because they dry in minutes and no walking around in soaked shoes and socks! The only shoes I'd wear at Disney.

My DD insisted on wearing her Crocs in the park last trip. She wore socks but developed a small blister where the button is on the inside of her foot - not new Crocs and not knock offs.

The other problem was someone stepped on the back of her foot at the end of the evening in a crowd and the strap broke off - snapped the inside right off. I took the strap off and she wore them the next day too, against my better judgement. She ended up with a sore for the rest of our trip and had trouble walking. Mom's just never know what's right do they? :rolleyes1

I would be apprehensive to wear any new shoe if you are going down during colder months where your family is used to wearing tennis shoes, or boots and then switching to any kind of sandal, including croc's. That said, we always wear them to Disney during the summer months because our feet are used to them.

When we go in early May, I will probably bring croc's and sneakers. I will have DS start with socks/croc's and see how it goes.

The reasoning I have is that if they are used to wearing tennis shoes and socks at home for school and stuff, then you know they shouldn't bother their feet because they're used to them.

Good luck with your decision!
