Crocs as badshoes???

I think these shoes are so far from "cool" looking it's not even funny, but hey if they are comfy I'll give them a try.

Hello,
I am from U.K and will be visiting Florida on 21st April. I am really keen to buy these shoes as I suffer from plantar fasciitis and I am really panicking about how my feet will be at the Parks. Can I buy these shoes at the shops in Orlando? I am not keen to order them in case they do not arrive in time and I am happier to try them on first.
I enjoy reading all your posts :wave2:

Marge8: Welcome to the DIS Boards. Here is a link to the Dealer Locater from the Crocs website. You can look at the Florida dealers and see if there is one in the area that you would be able to visit. HTH

Marge8 - I just realized you and I will be at WDW at the same time! What a coincidence. Also noticed that you are in the UK - My husband is British - his dad is from the Sussex area.

I hope we have great weather and low crowds at the end of April. :goodvibes

I got a pair on ebay -- went for bright blue, and much to my surprise the 10/11 size is big for me. I may buy another pair in the 8/9 range. They do feel wonderful on my feet.

I am thinking of ordering a pair. I like the Nile. I have lupus and my feet hurt all the time. I cannot find a comfortable sneaker or shoe. Does anyone know how long the delivery time is? We leave for our trip April 23. If I ordered them now will I get them in time for our trip? TIA.

On the other thread for crocs they talk about zappos.com and some others. Delivery time is 2 days. You could even have time to return them and get another pair.

Check the crocs website to see if you have any local dealers. REI is a national chain - they sell mountain bikes and hiking packs and canoes and stuff like that, but they also sell Crocs. I bought a pair yesterday. My wife thinks I'm insane. I'm inclined to agree with her. But they're comfier than anything I've ever had on my feet.

I live in a college town and there is a local store. They are really becoming the rage with the college crowd. After reading "what crocs did for me" and being in the market for comfortable WDW shoes I thought I'd check them out. I wasn't looking for pretty - I was looking for practical. IMHO these are not shoes meant for people with slender feet - I don't know how you'd keep them on much less walk the parks. My toe was kissing the front of the shoes but I had a good inch on either side. Just a word of warning - if you can try them on - do. They are not easy to fit as many have already indicated. They could be the greatest thing for you - or not.

Thanks for the info everyone. I am going to see if they have any dealers near my home. I would like to try them on before I buy them. My feet small and wide! :p

Apparently the Cayman, in addition to being available in whole sizes, was redesigned to accomidate narrower feet. I, having wide feet, enjoy the width of the standard Beach model.

Hey, BostonRob did you take a look at the badshoe website that was posted on crocs as badshoes? I remember you asking if any guys wear crocs, and today I clicked and saw a guy at wdw in crocs and thought of you :rotfl:

darn ugly shoes!! also, thanks for your information, someone was asking about chacos because she couldnt get the crocs size M or L to fit, so hope you dont mind if I cut and paste your post over there!! :earboy2:

Glad to help. I can't believe I bought the things, but if they continue to feel as comfortable as they do now, I'll wear them to the parks. I'll look stupid and people will laugh at me, but I'll be comfortable.

:rotfl2: Definately what the thread needs... 'cute'

edited to add.. dd (home sick today!) saw the baby, and we agree... awww, so cute!!!

Here's my two cents. I was on vacation on Cape Cod, walking down Commercial St when I saw some people coming towards me wearing bright yellow Crocs. My thought at seeing them was "those the ugliest shoes I've ever seen" & "who are the freaks who would be seen wearing those?". It was minutes later that my girlfriend ran up to me, all excited, eager to show me the two pairs she had just bought for us.

I swore I'd never put them on, but, well....I'm wearing them right now and they're GREAT. I even got another pair specifically for my time in the operating room. It can be 8 - 12 hrs on my feet and my feet still feel ok.

We are the teensiest bit prejudiced, but we do think she's pretty darn cute ;)

Thanks

About the Crocs - I was inspired to go try some yesterday. (Ended up buying 3 outfits for DD - I worry about her not having enough clothes for our trip. I guess you know you're a parent when you go to buy something for you and buy something for your child instead!) Anyway, I had the same experience as the poster who said that they were wide on their foot. I was trying the older type with the "combo" sizing - 6/7 8/9 etc. Nice to know the Caymans are slimmed down a little. Does anyone know what to do in terms of sizing if you wear a half size? I am a 7.5 . . . DH said just order a pair of 7's and a pair of 8's and return one of them but I'd love to avoid doing that if I could. Any advice from experienced wearers?

Buy the 7s.

I normally wear an 8 1/2 and read that the whole size is actually the next larger half size (make sense?) i.e., an 8 is really an 8 1/2.

Anyway, I ordered the 8, and I have enough room in the length. Though, I did try on a pair of 9s and could have lived with it.

I am wearing mine to work for the second straight day (ordered Navy blue so I could wear to work), and they are quite comfortable. I don't spend a lot of time on my feet, so I will have to wait to pass judgment on a "busy" day.

I am thinking about ordering the black and red too. I bought a pair on Nile in the "pearl". Really like them but kind of wish I had gone a little further "out" and bought a fun color for the sandal.
