Pleae don't attack me all you Croc lovers...... but am I the only one who thinks Crocs are really ugly?

I've heard such good things about them and I've tried some on but I just think they look so awful on me but at the same time I really want a pair.

As well as the comfort factor, is it true that they keep your feet cool? I would buy some for that reason alone as my feet get really hot out there.
Doesn't that rubbery plastic stuff they are made of make your feet sweaty?

There are so many styles available you are bound to find one to suit you and your personality. I like the "sassari" range and the "athens" thongs but there are many more.

I think they very ugly but yet so comfy.
On our last trip I wore them nearly every day and my feet felt reasonably great considering the amount of walking we were doing.
At one point there was a big thunderstorm, everybody was standing under shelters but we had dinner reservations and had to get there, so braved the weather. It was actually really nice and refreshing to get wet  But the best thing was the crocs, the water just gushed through them and my feet loved it. DH was wearing trainers and socks and all throughout dinner his feet remained soggy, mine were dry and feeling great.
I did make a point of making sure the crocs are not in any of the pictures

Good point about the rain:thumbsup2
So funny that you excluded them from your pics :rotfl2:

I don't think the traditional ones (I have the Pink Disney ones) are that attractive either, but the benefits far outweigh the ugliness! They are great in the hot weather, great in the rain, comfortable and springy to walk in. I walk quite heavily on my heels and as a result normally have achy feet by the end of the day, but didn't get that with the crocs. The appearance is a small price to pay for the overwhelming comfort and ability to run around in the rain!!!! :rotfl:

I've got some sketchers cali shoes, they are similar in that they are plastic, but are a full shoe and slimmer design. My feet look like a clowns when I wear the crocs.

Nope I didnt find them slippery.
I wore my cotton candy crocs all the time,I loved it I suffer blisters on holidays and this time I didnt.
I also purchased some Disney ones for the girls who also loved theres and DP had some very manly offroad crocs for in the day.
Ugly or not I find them really comfortable and would rather be walking on marshmallow (according to dd's) than tip toeing around in agony :goodvibes

P,s they are also handy if on water rides, they soon dry out! unlike trainer's and socks.

Yes I think they are ugly. I cannot wear the traditional style ones because my big toes push out of the holes a bit. This year did buy two pairs of the Cleo range which are more like a sandal with two bars and they were very comfortable.

I did notice less of them about on the US folk though compared to previous years.

I love my crocs and plan to buy some more next week.

I have previously suffered with plantar fascitis and since living in crocs and flyflots my feet don't have any pain, so well worth the not so pretty shoes.

A x.

I just read on another thread that they are REALLY slippery when it rains! Anyone had any experience of this?http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1908166

My DS(8) slipped and fell crossing a wet road outside AKL - fortunately it was quiet and I was with him but it made us a bit wary of Crocs when in the rain.

BTW - I bought a pair of the flip-flop crocs and ended up binning them after 2 days as they took huge chunks out of my feet where they go between the toes.

I am not a great fan of Crocs now

I would NEVER wear any kind of flip flops at WDW... I've done it before and people kept stepping on the back of them while I was walking, not only was it annoying it was really painful between the toes.

I love my Croc's Athens and live in them most of the year round :thumbsup2

I can't get on with the clog styles as they rub my feet :sad2:

My experience is that they do become very slippery once the tread has worn and I've managed to slip a few times, on various surfaces, in the rain or around swimming pools.......:headache:

I can't stand them, either. There are plenty of footwear options out there which are just as comfortable yet don't look so ridiculous!

Yes they are ugly but I'm no oil painting myself so I wear them all the time.

Comfort outweighs style.

They sound very comfy, but unfortunately I can't get past the fact that they're so ugly my eyes burn.

yep, they're ugly as sin, and I like my designer labels and nice looking clothes, plus I couldn't see how rubber shoes could be comfy at all!
BUT, I bought some in Orlando last year, and now I couldn't go to a theme park without them!!
My feet are dead normally after a day wandering round one of Walt's marvels, but now they feel great!!

Oh but yes, they're deadly when wet! I nearly went flying underneath Skull Rock at DLRP in May, so be warned!!

:goodvibes

I don't like traditional Crocs, I think they just look so big in adult sizes (and I'm only a size 4).
I have Cleos too - they are very comfy so I reserve them for when I know I'm going to be walking a lot. They are especially good for waterparks as they dry out so quickly.
I think Disney crocs look very cute on kids though and my little girls have had the fuschia pink ones two years running, they are fantastic for the garden, so practical for them to slip on and off themselves.
