Okay, resort, themed, refillable crockpots & bath tub lemonade,
Let's keep this going for Charade!

Just come on over to the Pool Hopping Catfight thread where we are having a civilized and enjoyable discussion of the merits of bathtub gin, crockpot beanee weanees and fresh duck stewed in the GF hot tub or broiled in the heat room on Test Track!

Personally, I think we're dealing with two factors here. One is, if you're that tight with money that you need to cook in your room (after UPSing your food, GF grill and crockpot to your room ahead of time), you should save more before going to WDW on vacation. That's being a little judgmental IMO. But I don't care. I believe that. Until recently, all the rooms at the All-Stars were NOT designed for cooking! I believe now they have family suites (but of course, they cost more money) that you can cook in. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The other is the "whatever floats your boat", "why should anyone care what you do in your room" and the "to each his own" arguments. That would be ok but I think it's a being a bit self-centered to believe that you're the only one in that hotel and your **** doesn't stink. Add to that the potential fire hazard and now you're being inconsiderate to your hotel neighbors. I believe that too!

I personally agree with you. I think it is just plain inconsiderate of someone to disregard the potential of a fire hazard and put a building full of other guests at risk just because they wanted to trim a couple of $$ off their trip. I would prefer that someone not put my family at risk. However, it is fun having a little play time on the scenario. I personally enjoyed my chuckle out of it. These little controversies keep this place interesting. :rotfl2:

OK, I'll bite LOL. While I agree that there should not be cooking in the rooms, I specifically asked about the values and mods, mentioned specific appliances, when I wrote, and was told it was fine, to please unplug them when you leave the room (I so hope I got someone who was on their first day and didn't know any better). So, as much as I hate smelling the food cooking, it's Disney's call, and I guess if the rest of us don't like their decision, we can stay elsewhere. By the way, many, many of the offsite hotels have micro's, and I've never seen a fire extinquisher or fan in any of those rooms...and I've looked after these threads.
I wish Disney agreed with me..I hated that I had to come back to the thread that was going on when I wrote and be wrong..but I was.

Yes and where is the outrage at people like me who bring a coffee pot to POP? If WDW had wanted people staying at values to have good coffee they would have put in coffee pots like they do at the mods and deluxes right? Where is the outrage at value guests for fouling up the rooms with their freshly brewed Starbucks?

Me thinks it has more to do with the suspected class of people who would cook in their rooms more than it does about fire hazards and food smells. JMHO. :firefight

That reminds me, I need to go put my short ribs and barbecue sauce in the crockpot...

Me too, and I'm bringing all my relatives who are sleeping on air mattresses in my room. We also have our refillable mugs filled with lemonade that we got from our bath-tub.

See, we are teaching people valuable money saving ideas!!

Personally, no, I wouldn't be cooking while on vacation. No way, no how. I especially wouldn't be cooking in a crockpot. Maybe I'd "cook" a poptart. I try not to worry about what others are doing while on vacation, though.

But I have fun coming up with all these wonderful ways to save money while in Disney. Who knew the coffee makers could do so much more than just make coffee?! ;)

Anyway, let's conga! :dance3:
