OMG, do they really do this? I always though everyone was joking around when I'd read those crockpot threads! Too funny, I barely like to cook at home, I certainly wouldn't be packing my crock pot to make a roast at disney!MosMom said:People bring crockpots to Disney and cook in their hotel rooms. Some people think it is no big deal and others think it is a fire hazard and stinks up other rooms with cooking odors.

The controversy is why it is or is not ok. Probably the best point I have heard made said that it is NOT ok because it's right in crock pot instruction manuals that the crock pot should not be left unattended. I know many people that do this when they go to work, but it's still against the published rules by crockpot manufacturers.

I'm with you.powellrj said:If you go to some of the really really hardcore budget sites, NOT THE DIS, you will see people suggesting you bring your own crockpot, george foreman grill, microwave and toasters to save money. People encourage each other about how wonderful it is to have homecooked meals to come back to after a long day at the park. I NEVER post how I really feel about it because you will be flamed about what a spendthrift you are and how you are just wasting money on those expensive Disney meals.
I would read about these trips on other boards and think I would stay home before I would drag all of those things on vacation with me and try and do dishes in a bathtub and feed the family while sitting on your bed.
Its one thing if you rent a villa or condo, but these are just regular rooms that people get and then set up mini kitchens.
While I enjoy breakfast and snacks in our room, the last thing I want to come back to is something in a crockpot that must be washed in a bathtub.

For a few minutes there I thought maybe I would be labeled as a wack job.![]()
