Crockett's Tavern timing question

I wasn't quite sure what group to post this into... It could go into dining, transportation, theme parks or here... but, I decided to post here since the campers would best know the timing of travel from the parks to the Fort. On our trip in a couple of weeks, we're planning on seeing the Star Wars fireworks at Hollywood Studios at 8:00pm. We have a 1:00pm lunch at 50's Prime Time, and didn't really want to eat a dinner in HS as well. We were considering just coming back and grabbing something at the takeout window at Crockett's Tavern and bringing it back to the cabin for a late dinner. Crockett's Tavern shows it closes at 10:00pm. Do you think it's possible to make it back to Crockett's Tavern by 10:00pm (or early enough that they'll still be making food) after leaving HS at closing after the fireworks? I'm sure there will be big crowds leaving after the fireworks, so might be a long wait to catch a bus... then catch the bus to the Settlement. Should I give it a shot or maybe just plan to get something over at the boardwalk and walk over there after park closing?

By the time you get back it's gonna be close. I'd eat some where else.

That's a tough call about making Crockett's.

I guess the "Stock" answer of "It Depends" applies. How long is the show? How long will it take you to get out? How long will it take to get on the bus? How long will it take to get to the Fort?

I usually plan on at least an HOUR for "Travel" when relying on WDW Transportation (although often times it's less then that). That's from Point of "Embarkation" to point of "Debarkation". I have had pretty good luck with this planning scheme. That said, you still need to get from the Fireworks, through the crowds to the point where you can get on the bus. So if the show is 30 minutes long, and it takes you 30 minutes to get to the buses, then allowing an hour (and it's quite possible at that point that it would take a good hour) for travel to the Fort and again on the internal buses to get to the Settlement, add on the walk to Crockett's.... and you will probably not make it. If things go well, you could make it.

Going with Denise's suggestions, I'd plan on eating somewhere else. Alternatively, you could plan ahead on the possible "Failure" to make it to Crockett's by having some food that could be (quickly/easily) prepared at the Cabin. Then try to make Crockett's and if you don't, you have a "Fall Back" plan so you don't go hungry.

All that being said, at around 10 PM at night, I am not looking for a big meal, so maybe a PB&J would suffice. :D

That show is what, 20 minutes? If you leave right after the show I allow a minimum of an hour from park to camper which usually includes the internal buses at the Fort. If that be the case you should be able to pull it off, but it'll be close.

I agree with above statement though, that late at night I'm more about a snack than a whole meal.

Let us know how it goes.

I'm pretty sure I read on here that the fireworks are less than 20 minutes. 12 minutes comes to mind, but I couldn't find that thread quickly. Even so, 12 or 20 won't make much of a difference. You guys just confirmed what I already pretty much suspected. I'm not a fan of much of the QS meals at Hollywood Studios. But, I might suffer through something, or as I said as my original alternate, walk up to the Boardwalk after the fireworks. Thanks for the answers everyone!

Disney Springs is open late. Some pretty good eats there.
