Does anyone ever bring a crock pot for cooking in your villa?

Have you ever checked it as luggage at the airport? Does this work? Would you do it again?

Is there a crock pot swap like the frig swap over at the value resorts?

I know this is a lot of questions. I think a crock pot would be great for helping us with dinners and I'm just trying to figure out how to get it there. Thanks for all your help.

It might be a great item to put in an Owner's Locker!

Yes I did bring a crockpot to MCO from Providence in my carryon Disney bag! DH thought I was nuts, and TSA in Providence inspected it -- filled with Christmas plates and bowls and coffee filters and said I was making good use of space. TSA in MCO made a joke (!) and commented that it sure was a crock and also that they bet my family loved what I cooked.

Now during the cup and mug uproar I finally signed up for an Owner's Locker and am thinking about buying another crockpot to put into the locker. DH has been so opposed to the OL that I'm not sure I'm going to tell him DVC relented on the glassware!

There are some great crockpot recipes on the sticky thread on the Camping Board.

Wouldn't it be great if they supplied one in the DVC units. I love my crockpot. I have 2. One for soups and stews and another for roasts and things. I can cook almost anyhthing in a crockpot. Unless something needs to be fried or boiled I could get away without a stovetop for a week no problem.

I have never brought a crock pot but I have brought my electric skillet or griddle before. We have used both for making breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc.)

I have thought about buying a crockpot online and having it shipped to the resort and then give it to housekeeping. I don't know if DVC would allow it. Owners Locker seens as if it may be an expensive alternative, could someone let me know the costs...if permissible.

Thanks for the tip for the crockpot recipes- I just finished subscribing to the thread ;) With prices increasing so much I think this will be the way of my future disney trips. :sad2:

When we cook something overnight in the crockpot the smell really gets to us so I started cooking with it in the garage! One time my son came home from college and asked why the garage smelled like roast.
