Croc lovers...Question??

I have several different styles...all-over holes, holes only on the side and then no holes at all. I love my ventilated ones for use at WDW. I have high arches and these shoes work out very well. My lower back doesn't hurt and my knees hold up quite well.
I did get the none-hole style for the winter. Yes, they are very toasty, but my feet do tend to get a bit sweaty in them...no matter what socks I wear.

I love both! I've got a couple pair of the Crocs...beach model, known as the ones with all the holes...and a couple pair of Holey Soles, without the holes, known as the Provider.

I've worn both styles with socks...the Crocs (Beach) don't get too hot for me, but I've notice I have a heck of a time with my left sock...it's always twisting inward toward my big toe side...no blisters or anything just the sock keeps twisting when I do a lot of walking and it's only the left foot.

The Holey Soles with socks are just fine...no twisting, no blisters, my feet don't feel too hot while I'm wearing them, but I do notice that after I take off the shoes and the air hits my feet the toes feel a chill...means my toes have been sweating a bit, but it hasn't caused any foot issues like overly dry or athlete's foot stuff.

Now, I've been told by my local retailer...a very small shoe store with no chain affiliations...that Crocs and Holey Soles are the same shoe...that the Crocs are just the American version while Holey Soles is from Canada. I don't know for sure. The only visible differences I can see are...
-the connectors for the ankele straps are different...Crocs has a crocodile image...Holey Soles just say "holey soles".
-the tops of the shoes design is slightly different...Crocs has like a water-wave thing while Holey Soles is more like 2 lines...not a big difference
-Holey Soles Provider (no holes at all) seems a wee snugger on the foot than the Crocs Beach (all the holes) even though both are sized as M, LG, etc. The retailer agrees. I've not tried the Holey Soles version with all the holes to see exactly though.
-Holey Soles Provider was $29.99 while the Crocs version is either $39.99 or $49.99...either way Holey Soles were cheaper for me.

My retailer has told me that for ordering and delivery purposes...Holey Soles is much better...faster turn around than Crocs, which seems to take forever when you order them direct from the company.

The last time I was in her store (mid December), she showed me all the really cool "jewelry plugs" (for lack of a better word) for the Crocs and Holey Soles. It looks just like the connectors on the ankle straps, but is decorative....letters so you can spell things, flowers, butterflies, birds, cats, dogs, basketballs, soccer balls, baseballs, etc...all for you to jazz up the shoes with the holes. I'm not sure of the cost...she'd just gotten them that day and was showing them to me since she knows I'm a huge fan of the shoes.

As for getting the right fit...personally, IMO, ya need to try them on...I tried on several pairs to find the ones that are exactly right the first time...I've learned that as your foot warms up the shoe, it does start to form fit to your foot like the Crocs site says and other wearers here said, but I guess I'm old school and think ya oughtta try on shoes first.

So, that is what I know. I hope it helps!

I'm definatly getting some of these for my upcoming trip and have been debating about getting them on ebay or try to find them in stores locally. can anyone tell me how the ones withe the general sizing run? i notice for women sizes my choice is 6-7 or 8-9. I can run anywhere form a 6 1/2 to 8 depending on the shoe. I'm leaning toward the smaller size because 9 is definatly too big for me, am I leaning the right way? I'm thinking i should buymy 1st pair in person to get the feel of them but I've looked locally a bit for these and not found them yet. can anyone recomend a shoe chain that would carry them?

I wear a 7 1/2 shoe and like you I was undecided on the size but went with the smaller 6-7 size and they fit just right. You can also go to a store and try some on to check the right size. I did this and the 8-9 size was a little big on my foot. Of all placed our Hallmark Store carries the Crocs and a store here called Martin's but none of the other national chains have them. Good luck.

Thanks for the info on the holey soles. I had wondered what the difference was. No one around here sales them but i had seen them on e-bay and they looked just like the crocs. I may have to try a pair of these also.

Beach! I love 'em.

And forgive if this has already been posted, but I remember someone else on another Crocs thread reminding everyone who wears them that once they get worn down on the bottoms, they get very slippery. Be careful!

I wore my Beach Crocs at WDW all week long and absolutely loved them the whole time. Never had one issue. My feet were nice and cool all day, versus being in tennis shoes, which I normally wear. ::yes::

I have the beach model in black, and I wear them without socks when it's warm and with socks when it's cold.

I wore them when my DH, DD2, and I went to MK and AK (all in the same day), and my feet didn't hurt at all.

Thanks for responding UrsulasShadow & PixiePop. I think I might get some. I really am a sandal & flip flop person. I hate "shoes" & that's what has gotten me into trouble, or so my Dr. says. Maybe these are a good compromise.

I've had my Nile Crocs for all of 3 days now and I have to say they ARE VERY comfortable. There's a thread posted in this forum already that I started asking for advise on the best walking sandals. I bought 3 different pairs based on the advise I received. One doesn't fit and has to be returned (Keen Newport H2's) and the others - my Crocs and Merrell Reactors are FANTASTIC! I have a very wide and flat foot and the fit was perfect AND no pain. EVERY shoe I have EVER worn has not helped one bit with my aching flat feet - except for these :)

The crocs are not the best looking pair of shoes I own but they're so comfy I just don't care.. LOL

This does have something to do with the theme parks. How well do the crocs hold up to wear in the parks?

Crocs is comming out with a flip flop!!!!!

Bet that would work at Disney (just to keep it on topic) ;)

LOVE love LOVE my Crocs!
Wore them for 8 days in Disney...normally wear Birkenstocks for my high arches but when I did wear them, I got blisters!
So, I wore my Crocs...aahhhhhh
I wear them with and without socks....if with crops or shorts, I wear without socks some (but sometimes have gotten a blister or 2) and also with those little footie socks that you basically don't see.
I have the ones with holes but want more!!
I also have Plantar Fascitis with high arches and Crocs are superb for me..they give me the support on ALL of my foot and are so lightweight that you forget you have them on.
Got mine from shoemall.com and my hubby's from Ebay....

Here's to your happy feet :flower:

Anyone else wear them with shorts or capris and wear socks? I would do it if I thought other people would also.

Yep, all the time. I usually wear them with the no-show socks. See pic below (these are the Nike brand which I have not tried, but this is the style I LOVE!)

I just recently bought some at wal-mart 6pr. for $4.47? they were under $5 anyway. I also have gotten them at sam's, and big lot's had the Ped's brand about a month ago for .99/pr. and those are real comfy. Just be sure to get the light-weight one's and your feet will be cool all day!

I don't think they look stupid at all when at the end of the day everyone else is dragging themselves out of the THEME PARKS (just a tie-in to the theme park board, LOL!) and I still have springin my step!

Anyone with foot problems wear these? I have plantar fasciitis and my feet start to bother me pretty quickly, unless I am wearing my ortho inserts. Just wondering...

I actually wear mine with my ortho inserts when i am at work, and I can hardly see them :goodvibes

I wore a pair of Beach...the only pair I had at the time...back in June for 6 days at WDW...not a blister one! It rained everyday of the trip...not a problem. I walked thru 2 inch puddles...feet got wet, but dried quickly afterward.

For our Christmas trip I wore my newer pair of Crocs..lime green...and a pair of the Holey Soles, which are a moss green so they go with more.

And someone mentioned the problem of slipping...

YES! When the Crocs (and I'm assuming the Holey Soles...mine aren't worn down yet) do start to slip on wet surfaces once they get worn down. The pair I wore in June are pathetically worn down and I did slip slightly on a rainy day back in the fall...they're now my knock around shoes.

Hope this helps!

Not a slave to fashion here. When it's colder I wear low cut socks with my Crocs (Beach from ebay) Just back from CA and they once again did wonders at Universal Studios. I wore them at Disneyland in Dec and WDW over Christmas. Now one drawback no one has mentioned is the funny dot tan you get with Beach Crocs when you DONT wear socks :) !

Your inserts don't slip around or move?

Another question for anyone...what is a good color to get that will match with most outfits. Not trying to be mean, but these shoes aren't the cutest.

I have the navy blue ones. I'd say it's closest to the darker blue that you see here on the "quote" button.
