Sorry I know this is off topic, but I think many on here would appreciate this. I was so shaken up by Steve Irwins untimely death. I usually don't care much about celebs and don't pay much attention to what they do, but Steve was definitely different. He was truely a great man and probably the greatest Herpatologist (I think that's how you spell it) to ever live. What an awesome awesome guy. I am so sad about this and I don't even know why since I didn't know the man. It also makes you think about death and life a lot. I'm almost his age and it really makes you think. Although I know Steve did take a lot of chances, but he proved he always knew how to handle the situation, at least until now I guess. What a great guy, Steve you will be missed. Prayers are with your family as well. I somehow think Steve is going to be a big hit in heaven with all the angels just like he was on Earth. Good bye you will be greatly missed.

I can imagine him saying:

Crikey! Look at the size of those wings! And have you ever seen a halo shine so brightly!

Yes, he will be deeply missed!

I am with you on this one. Steve was such an infectious character, I never missed the opportunity to watch him, he was so genuine and passionate about his work :goodvibes I'll admit when I heard about his death, I did shed a few tears, although I didn't know him in person, I feel his energy just radiated off the screen and I guess many felt they knew him and loved him purely for that alone.

I grew up in Australia and I felt an attachment to him, he was such a friendly guy that I'm sure he would have given you his last dollar if you asked him too. I had always hoped when I returned for a vacation I would visit him at Australia Zoo.

He will be sadly missed and I hope his family receive the privacy they need to get through this, my thoughts are with them.

I was also very sad and shaken to hear of his untimely death. My family and I loved watching Crocodile Hunter together. He did have a very infectious personality and was just a very fine man. Yes, he will be missed. My thoughts are with his lovely wife and children. :grouphug:

All of us in Australia are really shocked by his death. He's was one of those infectious characters you just think will be around forever. He has done so much for the environment and wildlife, and was genuinely an alround nice guy. He will be greatly missed. They are talking of naming a National Park in his honour.

That's terrific, they definitely should. I saw someone in your government talking about how people around the world could not name your PM but they all sure knew who Steve was. I hope ya'll make a huge monument to him, he was a great ambassodor for Australia.
