I guess you mean the name Bindi.

Actually when I first heard that name when she was born it reminded me of a prickle..........we have a prickle we call Bindi.

It also makes me think of the stick-on jewels the Hindu women wear. Those are called bindis too.

What a strange name for a child,although I've heard stranger!

Yeah not a name I would ever use for a child.......but each to his own.......it was kinda a made up name at the last minute from what I remember.

Didn't Steve Irwin name Bindi Sue for two of his favorite animals? I know Sue was his favorite pet dog , who died not too long before Bindi was born. I think Bindi was also a pet (maybe a croc?). Weird to name your child after animals, but I guess for the Crocodile Hunter, it's not that strange.

Yes, Sue was after the dog....but Bindi......not sure where they got that one from.

In 1998 the Irwin clan enlarged with the addition of daughter Bindi Sue Irwin (allegedly named after "Bindi", a large female croc at the Irwin’s Australia Zoo, and "Sui", the Irwin’s beloved dog – now deceased), and again in 2003 with son Bob Irwin.


Yup, Bindi was a croc.............didn't know that till now..........I do remember the interview after Bindi was born, and couldn't remember where Steve said they got the Bindi from........
