CRO vs. AAA package reservation

I've booked a trip (package) for May 2006. I'm hoping for a general public code. However, if a code doesn't come out for my timeframe I will then book package thru AAA. My question is, if I book thru AAA for the discount for the exact same package booked thru CRO will I have to change my reservation number and thus lose all of my ADR? TIA

Yes, if you rebook with AAA you will get a new number. Why not book with them now and let them apply a code if it is available? ADR's will not automatically cancel just because you cancel your room reservation
