We are going to Disney for 8 nights in August 17-25, staying at POP. Have 8 day hoppers plus waterparks and regular dining plan. Driving down (2 day drive) will have car. 2 parents, 2 kids 11/14, older son has autism. Will request DAS pass for him as he gets claustrophobic in crowds is easily agitated and frustrated by lines. Big star wars fans so lots of HS time, younger kiddo is a huge thrill ride guy and will want to ride everything scary. Older son more cautious. Neither care at all about characters. Both kids have gluten allergy (celiac). This is what I have mapped out so far. Would love some criticism or suggestions on how to tweak or improve before I book ADRs this week. We have not been to Disney since 2014, so lots has changed!! Do any of these ADRs look hard to get if we book right at 180? What should I go for first? Thanks so much for any feedback!!

Monday Aug 17: Arrive at POP around noon. Check in (I know room may not be ready), head to HS. Book FP for Toy Story Land and RnRC, use DAS on slinky and ToT. ADR at Mama Melrose dinner for Fantasmic package reserved seating. Walk through Galaxy's Edge but probably not have time to ride MFSR, who knows on boarding groups etc. for ROTR.

Tuesday Aug 18: Magic Kingdom (early close at 6pm). Book early fastpasses and use DAS to hopefully do most of Tomorrowland/Fantasyland (Buzz, peoplemover, Space, Teacups, Speedway, barnstormer, SDMT). Late breakfast at Crystal Palace in the middle of that. Leave for a break around 1-2pm. Go to Beach Club and relax in lobby. 3pm ADR for Beaches and Cream for Kitchen Sink and maybe light lunch/snack. Have some downtime/air conditioning break in a hotel lobby area until 5-ish, head to Epcot. Do a few rides in Future World. Take a break at Tutto Gusto for snacks and wine flight for mom ;-) Watch fireworks show. Skyliner back to POP (evening EMH at Epcot this night).

Wednesday Aug 19: Waterpark early in the day. ADR at 1900 PF early dinner (5?) then MK. Use FP and DAS to do Jungle Cruise, Pirates, BTMRR, HM and then Dessert Party for Fireworks. EMH at MK this night. Stay and redo some favourites if we have energy.

Thursday Aug 20: Start at AK. FP for FOP (or Navi if we can't get FOP, then DAS for FOP), Safari, EE. Try to do the headliners with a break at Nomad Lounge before 2-3pm. Head to Wilderness Lodge for some lobby downtime or back to POP for a swim if early enough. Early dinner ADR at Artist Point Storybook Dining. Head to MK if we have the energy for a few hours (this could be a DAH at MK, if so we'll try to get tickets but may need to rearrange our days!)

Friday Aug 21: Start at HS. If ROTR still has boarding groups, show up super early (2 more early days here to try again if it doesn't work). Lunch at Sci Fi, head to Disney Springs for evening, dinner ADR at Raglan Rd.

Saturday Aug 22: Waterpark day, then head to AK for evening. Dinner at Tusker House, catch any attractions we didn't get to the first AK day, maybe stay for River of Light.

Sunday Aug 23: HS/Epcot. Hoping for Space 220 Lunch and Trattoria Al Forno dinner. Being flexible on this day because we don't have much other epcot time but ROTR is probably the #1 priority for the trip. Basically the whole day at these two parks do do any last attractions we want to see.

Monday Aug 24: MK day (not planning anything early just in case we want a 3rd morning at HS). Dinner at Tony's. Kind of considering moving dessert party to this day, might be a nice way to end the trip??

Tuesday Aug 25: check out of POP, spend a half day at a water park, then head to Universal for 3 nights before driving home. (Could add a 9th park day here for minimal $$$ but think we might need a quiet day off before tackling Universal Studios??)

This looks like a solid plan. Hope you get get your ADR’s and FP’s. My only suggestion (unless you really want to do story book dining) would be to try and take advantage of being near the skyliner. You’ll have access to boardwalk, Swan/dolphin, yacht/beach, Riviera etc. I’d try to plan another meal in this area. We stayed at the dolphin last trip and a highlight of the trip was taking the sky-liner over to the riviera for breakfast.

Thanks for the suggestion! I should take another look at the skyliner hotels for restaurants. I do want to do Storybook, I love the 7 dwarves even though the kids couldn't care less lol, but I am not 100% committed on most of the rest of our ADRs (My DH requested Crystal Palace breakfast, and kids have requested pasta and steak for dinners, other than that it's up to me!) Could quite happily swap out that Tusker House ADR for a Riviera breakfast on our checkout day or another meal on the skyliner loop that day.

We’ve only been once in August, but we’ve also been in June (and managed to be there for a record high temp in both March and April—lucky us). Here’s my personal (and kinda gross) experience......I really wouldn’t have wanted to go straight to a nice dinner on most of those days. In August, we were literally soaked in sweat—every stitch of clothes and lock of hair—by dinner time. It was just DD and I for a long weekend, so we were just doing QS and we just went like we were. On the June trip, we’d go back to the room and shower and change before going back out for dinner and more parks. We literally showered and changed twice a day. I don’t know anyone (closely) who’s autistic, so I apologize if I’m being presumptuous, but if your oldest is agitated by crowds already, will being hot and uncomfortable exacerbate that? I would personally plan some “refresh” time in there. Have a great trip!

Don’t forget Mickey’s Runaway Railway will be open at Hollywood Studios.
