This is our first time DVC. There are 5 adults for 6 nights. We plan to order from Garden Grocer and are going to do breakfast and snacks in our room. We have two breakfast ADRs, and I'm pretty sure we'll do leftovers or CS on our last morning. So, that means 3 breakfasts in the room.

I'm afraid of not having enough food...but then again, I think I might be overbuying breakfast. We'll also be taking our water filter pitcher and bottles.

BREAKFAST

(2) 18 oz breakfast skillets (potatoes/sausage)
(2) dozen eggs
(2) 16 ct packages of microwave ready bacon
(2) 8 ct heat and serve sausage
(1) 8 ct Entenmann's chocolate donuts
(1) gallon milk
(1) 4 ct Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches
(1) 8 ct mini breakfast cereals
(1) Salt and Pepper shaker set

SNACKS
(1) 20 ct 1 oz Sun Chips variety pack
(1) 8 ct Nestle Drumsticks ice cream cone
(1) 6 ct Snickers ice cream bars
(1) 12 pack Dr Pepper
(1) 12 pack Diet Coke
(1) 12 ct nature valley granola bars

I don't see the beer and wine. 5 adults, 6 days you might need it.
I don't think that would last 3 days with my family.:rotfl:

Have a great time.

We used to buy too many groceries, so I can't comment on the quantities, but unless you are serving boiled eggs, you may want to consider having some butter or oil for cooking scrambled or fried eggs. How about juice, fruit, and bread for toast?

Have fun!

Is 1 gal of milk enough for all of you for cereal and to drink?

Some things we usually buy that aren't on your list:

Orange juice
coffee/filters
frozen waffles/syrup
microwave popcorn

I like the frozen breakfast skillet idea.

I asked the alcohol drinkers, and they are opting to drink their share at Epcot during the F&W festival. :thumbsup2

Are than pans generally non-stick? We're staying at Kidani and normally don't cook eggs with added fats.

I might pick up some juice. We will probably buy fresh fruit at the CS places as needed. We've found it to be cheaper than buying it from the delivery service and we can pick what we want. We don't eat much bread or carbs, so the potatoes should be plenty.

We don't have any big milk drinkers, so it should be plenty. DH and I only use a half gallon every 2 weeks. We don't drink coffee, but I added it, filters, and half and half for my parents. We don't do microwave popcorn, but you reminded me to add Smartfood white cheddar popcorn...assuming they have that in Florida?

I think the Jimmy Dean skillets are going to work well!

the pans were non-stick but i ended up buying some butter. a smaller size just for the stay, this was for the eggs because some wanted scrambled, etc. and i did need it for making french toast, but not the pancakes. i hope you have a nice time~didn't see where you were staying. then again you can always pick up some groceries at the resort, depending on the selection. :)

We just spent a week in a studio at HHI (3 ppl) and had breakfast in our villa every morning. DH does not normally eat breakfast so I kept them light. This is what I took for breakfasts: 2 bags of pre-sliced bagels (1 plain pk for DS & 1 everything for DH & myself), a sm. margarine & cream cheese, a sm. pack of 8 eggs, a package of sliced cheddar cheese, a box of pre-cooked micro. bacon, Pam, a pkg. of 6 English Muffins, a box of cereal, quart of milk, coffee & sugar & some of those little tiny packs of salt & pepper that you get "to go". We rotated thru bagels, egg mcmuffins & cereal.

Since it was a studio I didn't have a stove but I took these silicone things called "poach pods" that I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond along with a large plastic bowl to put them in. You basically spray them with a quick shot of Pam & put the eggs in the pods & they float in about an inch of water in the microwave. Takes about 4 min. to poach eggs w/ no mess, no fuss. I warmed up the pre-sliced bacon in the micowave for 30 seconds, toasted the muffins & put some margarine on them & added a slice of cheese - VOILA. They turn out pretty good for being done on the insta-cook method. I mention this bcuz you have the Jimmy Dean breakfast things on your list... They ARE convenient but not any better IMO....

BTW OP unless you're shooting for the variety I would think a whole box of cereal would be more cost effective than the individual ones?!

;) Let's see, AKV...Nov....balcony....screaming hot chocolate to me.

We will be there in Dec and are ordering groceries as well. We did DDP last year but I want to try TIW this year with our APs. DH is a grazer throughout the day. He does not care for too many "organized breakfasts". So it has always been more difficult to get him to use CS meals. MIL and I like to eat in the a.m. Because I work full time I need a hearty breakfast to get me to lunch then a lighter lunch. MIL and I have decided to get bagels and some other things to eat in our studios. I am going to take a few ziplocks to store left overs or a half bagel if needed. We will be there for 10 nights and are also staying at AKV-Kidani. I noticed that DH and I enjoy the snacks at night and they serve him well as he grazes while watching the grazers.

So we each have our own expectations and needs, and I think this is better served with TIW so that we can eat what we want and not be so locked in.

You list looks great to me....hot chocolate would be fun at the campfire, too even if it is 90 degrees. Have a great trip.

I think you are on to something! We aren't coffee drinkers so maybe if it turns to the cooler side hot chocolate would be good. I wonder if they sell packs in the resort store? Knowing my luck it would be 95 degrees and I would just have to leave it. We're packing super light/tight in our suitcases since we'll have a stroller and carseat with us.
