Would love some input on our touring plan for 9/8/17. We are traveling with a 3 year old and a 13 year old. Character meets are important and we will most likely take a break outside the park.

I realize that the 12PM LK show might be tight, so if we don't make that we will do Rafikis & Gorilla trail first and then catch the 1 or 2pm show.

Anyways, would love some input. We are staying off site in regard to fast pass selection.

When is this trip planned for? I think you have severely underestimated a lot of your wait times. Even with a fastpass you still could have a wait of 10 minutes on busier rides (Everest, Safaris, Avatar). I'm not saying this is a bad plan, but don't stress over trying to plan out every step you take. Especially because you never know when a ride might go into downtime and completely throw the schedule out of wack.

Hmmm, I am using touring plans so their software is filling in the wait times. Its for September 8th.

I agree with pp, there is no way that Na'vi River Journey will be a walk on. Even though you are going in the "slow time" the peak rides still tend to have a 20-30 minute wait, and with this being brand new, I think by 9:50 the wait time will be closer to an hour. On the flip side Tusker House being a buffet, we were in and out of there with meeting all the character in 45 minutes for breakfast. The safari, you can never time, because if an animal gets in the way, they have to wait until the animal moves. Also the walk through animal parks can take longer as well, if you have an inquisitive child, as they have cast members that can answer questions about the animals. I thought we would take maybe a day and AK, but my 8 year old niece stopped and asked questions for every animal, and we did not even get to finish the park in one day. At Rafiki's we ended up there for an hour, because they were doing an emergency surgery on a fruit bat and that was really interesting, they talk through the whole surgery.

Be prepared to go with the flow. Also note that on Kali River Rapids you will probably get soaking wet so you may want to hit that up and then leave the park for a break to rest. I don't see the Finding Nemo show, which is the second best show there if not at Disney as a whole, it is really an amazing show and we use it as a 45 minute break in air conditioning.

Thanks! Im wondering if the offsite break is necessary, maybe the Nemo show would suffice enough to get everyone cooled down and recharged. We are hoping to snag an 8am reservation and let the 10:15 go but we are not counting on it.

I think touring plans needs to update the wait time generator for AK. I don't know what formula they are using to determine the wait times - particularly for Pandora. I do not see you being able to complete both Pandora rides (that's even without the meet & greet) before your 10:10 Tusker House ADR - even with a fp+ for one of them. Additionally, it has you getting in and out Pandora in less than 30 minutes - just riding 2 rides and out. There should be some time to explore.

As a framework, I don't see a problem with it. But, the wait times and duration times seem to be way off and you need to be prepared to drop things - there will be bathroom breaks, stopping for snacks, watching street performers, curiosity ...

Additionally, AK is a VERY hot park. There is so much outside time planned in succession - I think you're going to be melting and really feeling the heat. I'd plan on getting inside for some air conditioning in the gift shops, Nemo show or someplace - or even just a break in the shade.

Since you're staying off-site, your afternoon break can be taken in the Animal Kingdom Lodge - atmosphere is awesome, lobby is beautiful and relaxing, and there are animals to be seen there also. It is a quick bus ride there and back.

I think the morning wait times on Touring plans are way off. On my first trip they told me seven dwarfs wait would be 7 minutes...not. Try 120 minutes. It seems very strange to recommend doing an "anytime" attraction like the trail during the less crowded early morning.

I think most people would tell you to do the Boat ride in Pandora first thing, then do your flight fp ride next.

This is a personalized touring plan, so I created the order of attractions myself. I guess I am trying to minimize the amount of walking/back tracking. My thought with that was that we would go meet the characters at the outpost and then walk through discovery trails in order to get over to Avatar. Perhaps I should choose one of their preconfigured plans and alter it to add any missing attractions?

I would do Na’vi before Avatar (instead of Discovery Island Trails). No way Na’vi is at a 7 minute wait at 9:50 am. You could do Discovery Island Trails on your way out of the park (when you go back for Rest or Nap).

You’re pushing it on the 12:00 showing of the Lion King. I doubt Kilimanjaro will have a 4 minute wait at 11:32 am (even on a slow day).

Dinner?
