it is our first visit - we have free dining plan - 2 adults - 2 kids (7 yrs old) - daughters are into princesses :-)))

We are vegetarians so safest bet either buffet or italian:

here are my ADR's:

8/28 - arrive at night - none
8/29 - lunch at CRT
8/30 - dinner mama melrose at HS
8/31 - dinner Garden grill at Epcot
9/1 - no ADR
9/2 - dinnerTutto Italia Epcot
9/3 - breakfast at Arkershus Banquet Epcot
9/4 - dinner at Crystal Palace
9/5 - dinner at 1900 Park Fare
9/6 - lunch at Tony's Town Square - leave in the evening

We love 1900 for dinner! I am not a fan of Akershus, but we've only been for dinner. Just not our thing. The character interaction was great and I have a gorgeous picture of my daughter and Belle, but we HATED the food. (and my husband will eat ANYTHING...)

We are vegetarians so safest bet either buffet or italian:

All of the Table Service restaurants have at least one vegetarian entree on the menu so you don't have to limit yourself to Italian if any of the other places interest you.

Even though there are veg items for adults on each menu, there aren't always veg items on kid's menus (which you probably know). But I'm sure they can always whip up some pasta no matter what, right?

But for two 7 year old vegetarians, buffets probably are the best bet--they can sample from a whole bunch of great veggie options, get a little extra nutrition on the plate. My sisters and I grew up vegetarian--lord knows I wouldn't have ordered off of a kids menu, so a buffet would have been the right choice for me. But my sisters are more picky, and plain pasta or pizza always made them happy. So every family is different.

Here's my feedback, based on having read the menus--

here are my ADR's:

8/28 - arrive at night - none

8/29 - lunch at CRT--seems like a must-do, right? Lucky you, getting the ADR! There is a pizza on the current kid's menu, and an interesting looking "Veg Cassoulet" on the adult's menu with garbonzos and cannelinis. :thumbsup2

8/30 - dinner mama melrose at HS--I was a little surprised by this, because Prime Time Cafe and Sci-Fi Dine In are both super fun for kids that age. I think the veg option at Prime Time is usually a pretty nice pasta, and there's a Marinated Tofu with rice at Sci-Fi Dine In. Is this part of a Fantasmic package? If so, it makes total sense, although your kids might have more freedom to sample different dishes at the Hollywood and Vine buffet. If it's not part of the Fantasmic package, maybe consider either 50s Prime Time or Sci-Fi Dine In? You can always have (better) Italian in Epcot!

8/31 - dinner Garden grill at Epcot--I'm a little surprised by this one, too, unless your kids love the idea of the rotating restaurant and Chip and Dale. I know it's supposed to be super fun, but it's a set-price menu and it's a family-style meal (all-you-care to eat, yes, but NOT a buffet) that revolves around meat dishes. I'm sure they'd make something up for you, don't get me wrong, but it won't be their BEST food. A lot of vegetarians LOVE Restaurant Marrakesh (where there are often belly dancers, which might be really fun for the little girls!). Another popular restaurants for vegetarians at Epcot is Teppan Edo (they put on a show cooking your veggies at the table). Hacienda San Angel (the new Mexican restaurant) and San Angel Inn (inside the dark ride, which is beautiful!) both have vegetarian menus that they don't publish on the WDW website. You can find them at Allears.net, I think. These options, and the atmosphere, make them pretty solid choices for vegetarians, although this of course depends on your tastes. The thrill of eating in an aquarium would make Coral Reef a nice option for the girls, and the adult mushroom phyllo crisp is highly recommended.

9/1 - no ADR

9/2 - dinnerTutto Italia Epcot--Solid choice. Via Napoli also gets RAVE reviews, but if you've picked that one, then, you know, either way!

9/3 - breakfast at Arkershus Banquet Epcot-- Again, can't go wrong. Perfect choice for your little girls!

9/4 - dinner at Crystal Palace-- Very, very solid choice. They have a great variety of vegetarian foods.

9/5 - dinner at 1900 Park Fare-- Can't speak very much to the menu, but I'm sure this is a great choice, as well. It's a great, much-loved character meal!

9/6 - lunch at Tony's Town Square - leave in the evening-- The menu looks pretty good for vegetarians--they even have a kid's veggie item (Multigrain Pasta Primavera, as published right now) that isn't mac and cheese or marinara!! And the Lady and the Tramp theme is very sweet. I'd pick this too, after Crystal Palace. :)

I have to say, the only glaring omission I see here are any of the Animal Kingdom restaurants. However, if your family isn't doing Animal Kingdom, that makes sense. As a buffet, Tusker House in AK has a FABULOUS array of vegetarian food (and the flavors are usually pretty approachable, which might sit well with your little girls). If you are doing Animal Kingdom, consider adding Tusker House to your list of ADRs and skip Tony's (there are several great counter-service veg items in MK) or the Garden Grill (Sunshine Seasons has AMAZING veg counter-service in Epcot).

Anyway. Hope I've been a little helpful. Best of luck, you guys have an amazing trip planned!

Whew!!! Apologies that was so long! I didn't realize until I posted it!!! Just wanted to try to help you out, but I wrote a novel, instead.
:woohoo:

Kollererbear - thank you so much :-))) Good points you have. Since then did make some changes / dropped GG and added Tusker for breakfast. Also deleted Tony's last day and added Chef Mickey's as our departure breakfast - will make it more memorable for girls:-))))

I will check my ADR for Melrose againznd might pick up something else.

Oh! I'm so glad I could help. Tusker House breakfast is indeed supposed to be a lot of fun, and I think it will be a better fit for your family. I think you'll love Sunshine Seasons, too. It has lots of veggie options, and they have a delicious variety of desserts, too!! It can get a little crowded because Soarin' is in the same building, so if that's a concern you might want to go off-peak. But it's truly a great place to make the most of one of your CS meals.

Chef Mickey's is a great idea, too. The kids will get to meet Mickey and will be able to eat the same food as everyone else.

Have such a great trip!!! Your kids are going to love meeting so many characters, and it will save you a ton of time since you won't have to wait in line to meet them in the parks!
