Not sure if this is the right place to post this, I called to confirm our reservations for 9/24 to 9/29, which were booked in july. I asked about the free dining and was told I had not chosen it, and did not have it.Now this is not our first trip to the world, however it was to be our first free dining. I assumed the free dining was automatic, not true. after much complaning we able to get the free plan. True I was at fault for not "choosing" the free dining yet I feel a little mislead considering all the ads about the free food. So please look into your reservation so you will not be in the same spot as we were in

There is no Disney discount that is "automatic." If you are making a new reservation you have to specifically ask for the discount and if you already have an exisiting reserations you must always call, when a new discount comes out, and request that the discount code be added to your reservation.

When booking online, make sure you use the link on the site that states free dining or room discount..otherwise the site automatically defaults to full price.

We booked our Disney vaca back in June and in July when the Free Dinning was extended we call to have that added on to our vaca. Please, always call to make sure you are getting what you want.

No, Disnye does not allowe you to stack discount, you can not get a room discount on top of free dining. It's either or.

Disney is not going to tamper with or change your reservation without authorization from you. Some people don't want free dining, they prefer a room discount. Plus, in some cases, it's a HUGE amount of money - we save $1,200.00 with free dining. Disney isn't just going to give away those kinds of discounts without you calling in and applying it to your reservation.

Good advice. Every year there are posts by folk who thought they had xxx discount and they did not as they had not clicked through the link.
