Criminal Minds: DIS Official Thread 2 (Spoilers)

I agree criminal minds had got stale a couple of seasons ago. its time for it to go the same way it was time for Castle and its time for Bones. Criminal minds beyond boarders, how patronising to the police forces of other countries, oh look we are going to look after our citizens because we on a plane with a few people can do what no one else can. Do people really believe only american law enforcement can do the job any where in the world?

If you look at the comments on the actual Twitter page where the video was linked/saved/re-tweeted, it's unclear WHICH situation Shemar is talking about: his lawsuit that happened at the same time, in which he was scammed out of $60,000 while being kind and trusting to someone he thought was a friend, or about Gibson. That "friend" has been court ordered to pay him back the money. The ambiguity of who it's about could be the reason why he deleted the video.

The article you quoted by tvline.com has decided that the video is about Gibson and wrote it with that spin.

I find the bottom comments below the tweeted video interesting. It's well known that Gibson had it written into his contracts that he gets to leave early on Fridays to fly to San Antonio to be with his family on the weekends. (I've seen other high profile & A-List actors have similar types of contracts, i.e. some have a clause that they will not film after 5pm.) So the other days he is there for filming, it's important to get all the scheduled shots in each day. So time is of the essence. Yet, Shemar routinely was late. Which irritated Gibson.

So I have to wonder if this video is about Gibson? Shemar talks about kindness and how the karma of how one treats people comes back, yet he disrespected his fellow actors & crew by constantly coming in late. And it has to be a significant amount of time. If one is just 15-20 minutes late, the other actors are still in the makeup chairs and putting on their costumes. AJ Cook is probably still getting her hair curled. Camera & lights are usually still setting up the shot. So it would have to be enough time to be quite noticeable and make a difference and cause contentiousness.

@davdboreanaz WOW. Coming from the guy who could not be on time. Slacker! Disappointing.

@davdboreanaz I totally agree.

This could be more about clearing his name & reputation than actually having a lawsuit go to court. The bottom of the article mentions about how Nicolette Sheridan has been waiting 5 years to go to court. Disney/ABC has deep enough pockets and a stable of lawyers to keep putting off any type of trial for YEARS.

IF the writer behaved in a way which provoked or escalated the altercation, then, as I said before, he TOO should be held accountable for his part. If not fired, then reprimanded. And it should be on record. Some people talk like Thomas Gibson is public enemy #1 and was a constant menace to the cast & crew. But I've read accounts where Virgil Williams is a constant bully and intimidating on set. IF so, and he was equally part of causing the altercation, HE is STILL walking around on set and the cast & crew feeling in constant danger of him. They may not say anything, as being a writer and producer on the show, he has a lot of clout on what happens to them or in the show.

In this article from http://criminalmindsfans.com/exclusive-a-conversation-with-writerproducer-virgil-williams/ himself admits that people think he has a "Napoleonic Complex."

"Like from the Lion King. Fight or flight in any situation, you either fold or you grow. I’ve been lucky to have people around me that infused me with a fighting spirit, and I can thank my mom and grandparents for that. Some people think I have a Napoleonic complex because I’m a little guy with big confidence. But I’m not scrappy because I’m short, it’s just my nature."

I haven't read any of his tweets myself, so this part may not be accurate, but some people have said that after any episode Williams' has written has aired, he asks on Twitter what people think of it. Even if someone writes a fair and honest review, (meaning NOT a troll,) not liking some of his episode, he gets quite bullying and hostile to them.

That's online, not in person, and when one is the director wanting to make changes, as Gibson was, on the day of the altercation.

Is Thomas Gibson an angel? Clearly not. Was he wrong in touching the other person? Yes. Did his kick happen without any cause or provocation? Did he really feel he was being threatened and menaced? That's the part none of us have any info about, and perhaps why he feels the need for a lawsuit - to bring the facts to light. There were TWO people involved in the altercation. There are two sides. Williams will probably also lawyer up, if he's named in any lawsuit and be able to make a defense about his part of the altercation. And it will be on public record IF it gets that far.

Kirsten could also be referring to Shemar or Thomas. :confused3 She & Shemar are BFFs in real life. So it could be about him. ALL the other remaining cast members have remained silent about Gibson's firing on social media. None of them are going to write something that goes in opposition to the decision their employer, ABC Studios, has made. She used the same word as Shemar did in his deleted video, "Kindness."

She could have also written it purposely cryptic so that if the writer, Virgil Williams, confronts her on set, :scared: she could say it's about Shemar's case, so Williams won't penalize her when he writes his next script.

Ever so true, the timing of it was just ironic. I could be reading into it from delirium too. :upsidedow

Yeah, the timing is really bad. Shemar won his case. :thumbsup2 That news is being eclipsed by TG's firing. Shemar showed he was a really kind and good friend to someone he met on the show who then lied & stole from him and his charity. Being a good friend is a GOOD thing. :thumbsup2For those us us who didn't know what his constant references to "Baby Girl" was about, (other than he used to say it on the show,) we now know it is a charity for multiple sclerosis that he created. :thumbsup2 If there is "shade being thrown" about him being gullible, naive and stupid, for giving money to that actor who stole from him, Kirsten is fiercely loyal to Shemar. I think she'd come to his defense way before she'd defend Gibson, or put her job on the line or put herself in the cross-hairs of Virgil Williams.

So far, the only one who worked on CM and is no longer working on it (so his job isn't on the line,) and has said something in social media is Larry Teng, a former director on the show. He went off to co-executive produce Supergirl before the show moved to the CW and Vancouver.

Larry Teng ‏@larryteng Aug 12

I've always enjoyed working w/#ThomasGibson and the cast on @CrimMinds_CBS. He was never anything but kind & respectful. Sad to see him go.

EDITED: Correction, if Wikipedia is correct, Larry Teng took over directing episode 12x02 after Gibson was suspended. He is now the director listed on Wiki:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_Minds_(season_12)

Also someone on the IMDB (not the most reliable source, like TMZ is, but I'm too tired to verify this,) has said, "Harry Bring liked some tweets that imply the cast and crew isn't supposed to say anything because they are under contract by CBS." Harry might still be directing some shows.

I used to go to this blog all the time for CM news and info when I was posting a lot of pics on the old CM thread. (Before I accidentally posted a spoiler photo about Prentiss' funeral. :headache: ) They had been posting CM stuff since 2009.

CRIMINAL MINDS - It's Been a Blast!

To all the Criminal Minds fans:

We are closing down this blog. Many of us, the people running this blog, are Hotch/Thomas Gibson fans and with the news from TMZ, we have often said Criminal Minds without Hotch is just not something we are interested in.

We want to thanks all the people who have posted, followed us here, on twitter and facebook. We thank you and wish you all the best.

I think this is an example of how without Gibson & Shemar, the show is losing fans & interest all over.

I've been following this story in the news since I first saw it and I know what he did was wrong, but with shemar gone and now him....well I'm thinking the show has jumped the shark now.
