It looks like Paget(Prentiss) was on set yesterday! I thought we'd have to wait a couple episodes, but maybe she will be in the premiere

Oh yes! So glad to see JJ return and I would really have missed Hotch. I think that character is SO deep that we haven't even begun to understand him. Why is he so serious? What happened that took the joy out of his life even before his wife was murdered? (they re-ran that one last night-what a brilliant performance by Mr. Gibson!)

I also find the Hotch/Garcia dynamic interesting. She's completely opposite of him and I think he's really very fond of her.

I think the reintroduction of Prentiss is going to cause some fireworks between Morgan, Hotch and JJ. Morgan was deeply affected by her "death" and finding out the Hotch and JJ knew and played a part in the deception will bring some big drama for this fall.

Ah, another person who understands Hotch underneath that unemotional exterior. Yes, seemingly still waters run deep.

Thomas Gibson had said during contract negotiations that he hoped to return because there is so much to explore about his insides. Without Haley, he no longer has a release valve and someone he can talk about stuff and just let things out. He said his character was due to fall apart because of it, and he hoped to come back to explore some of that.

And yes, he's so different from Garcia, but he knew when she sent him her resume on pink, scented stationary that she was a very different kind of gal. The one time Morgan yelled at her for not just giving info straight out with all the chatter, Hotch stood up for Garcia.

Yes, Morgan is going to be pissed big time.

But, I think it will hit Reid the hardest. All the secrets & lies. Intellectually he understands, but in the relationship department, he's been let down by too many people he's trusted who were supposed to be family, from his mother, father, Gideon, and now Hotch & J.J.

Plus, Reid has been getting all those unexplainable headaches. . .

So I guess Seaver is definitely having an off-screen exit, because Rachel isn't on set. Doesn't bother me at all

I'm kind of hoping they don't go with some brain cancer line for Reid. The "beloved character gets cancer" story arc has been done so often in dramas that it's almost a cliche. Yes, I want more character development, I want to know more about who these people are-but I want it done in an interesting way.

They just showed the episode this week in which his MRI came back negative for any sort of brain anomaly, so I think they may have shut the door on the "brain cancer" idea. It will be interesting to see how they do play it out. And I will be as disappointed as you if they go for brain cancer.

Yup, I'm 99.9% positive that they're going for schizophrenia.

Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) & Rossi (Joe Mantegna's) contracts are up at the end of this coming season. So we all will go through the same thing we just went through with Morgan & Hotch, waiting for them to get re-signed.

This could be a way for the writers to leave Reid a way out of the show if his contract negotiations don't go well. We also may see signs of Rossi getting ready to retire again. The season may end with another 'cliffhanger' about these two.

It would be strange for Reid to be getting signs of schizophrenia at this late age. Inherited schizophrenia usually starts showing when one is in their teens. Reid is about 29-30 now. Reid has never exhibited any other signs on the show, up until the headaches.

For the record, (speaking for me,) I think many of us didn't like "Seaver," but I don't think we had a problem or dislike for Rachel, the actress. She took on a tough position, that just got worse as the season progressed, bringing back J.J. for a couple episodes, her looking so much like J.J., and then the writers making her character so dumb & inexperienced, and the way the two actresses were originally fired. It was all a deadly combo for "Seaver."

As Joe Mantegna (Rossi) said on his Twitter, (or maybe an interview? ) She's young & talented. She will do just fine in the future. I'm glad she seems like a nice person.


I do love seeing pics of just the regular cast, though.

I think Thomas Gibson will shave before they shoot the first shot. They were just doing the table reading of the script when they took the Twitter pic. He shaved for his appearance to promote the show, last month, when he & MGG went to Monte Carlo. I think if he was going to keep the scruffy, bearded look, he wouldn't have needed to shave for Monte Carlo. I posted pics of both looks several pages back during his trip. I think he stopped shaving the day his plane left Monte Carlo.

Also, Thomas had the scruffy look during last year's hiatus, too.

He must be having a mid-life crisis! Look at the way he's dressed! No tie and his shirt is untucked and he's wearing a scruffy tee underneath. He also doesn't have his usual FBI dress pants on. This is more the way TG dresses and not Hotch. Maybe he went under cover, or went rogue for a while to find Prentiss.

No spoilers, please! I'm having fun guessing.

I love the new look though. Now this kind of CM change I can go for.

I didn't dislike the Seaver character and certainly not the actress-never met her. I was upset about losing JJ because I feel that she is part of the family. There is a connection between her and Hotch that is vital, between her and Garcia that is joyful and she seems to have some special connection to each member of the team. Frankly, I could handle Prentess's loss better than JJ's. I was watching an episode last night when I got in from work where she brings her baby in for a visit after the team deals with a brutal family annihilator case. Morgan is holding Henry, and she's standing back with Hotch teasing him slightly because he's smiling. Nobody else could do that with him. It was no accident that she and the baby "just stopped by" that night. She knew what they had been through and how healing that baby's presence would be.
