AWESOME episode! Morgan was kinda scary

The preview for next week almost made me cry :sad1:

DISing during a commercial break ;)

"Garcia needs to be more professional sometimes" I love Morgan but :scared1:

Every time I see JJ I get sad. We only get to see her next week and then she's gone :sad1:

And, Spicer's daughter is 8? She looks about 12 :confused3

Ditto everything above.

:sad1: :sad1: I think in a way, we've lost two members of the team this week. :sad1:

I don't see how Morgan will ever be the same after this case.

From the previews for next week, did Reid say, "THEY can take her away just like that?" :confused3 I wonder if the "they" he's referring to is that the Madam Secretary :rolleyes1 she spoke to on the phone wants her as part of her team in the White House, after finding out what an incredible job she did talking that monster into letting Ellie go, and J.J. can be plucked from the BAU and transferred just like that? :scratchin

Does anyone know what the name of that song was that they played all through the show tonight? It sounded like a folk song but I can't figure out who was singing it.

TIA,
Daisy

Which one? There was like 3 and I don't want to hear any of them ever again. :crazy2:

I'll see if I can track them down tomorrow. Usually someone somewhere posts the songs of shows.

I got home just in time to see the previews for next week. Rats!

You might be lucky actually. I shouldn't have eaten before. I'm feeling sick now from watching the show.

***Thoughts*****

Spicer's daughter seemed to be in on it with the Prince of Darkness. I think she acted unrealistically calm throughout. Especially when they first got in the RV and he wiped the blood off her cheek....I was convinced that they really were a team.

I'm SO glad Morgan apologized to Garcia. And I really like the way Hotch stood up for her when Morgan said she needed to be more professional.

I'm worried that Morgan will get in trouble for "overkill" or something like that. I can see someone making a point that Billy hardly raised his gun up and Morgan shot him a lot.

I got mad when I saw the commercial for next week. CBS is making it seems like it is JJ's choice to leave. Imzadi, I think you are on the right track with JJ getting a different job due to the speech she gave on the radio. At least the producers let her have a great monologue before they gave her the ax.

It was ohh so good to see Reid :lovestruc

Ew! I'll take your word for it then.

It wasn't bloody/gory. They actually dialed that down. But the villain was so scummy. I feel like taking a shower. :crazy2: Then stuff was happening with Morgan & then J.J. It was an incredible episode. But, wow, my tummy is still queasy from being on pins and needles for an hour. :hyper:

I thought Ellie was a little too calm and belligerent, too. I know Morgan had said he was worried she would show fear, but I don't think he had a chance to tell her that before she got taken away, the way Hotch got to tell Haley not to show fear, during her episode. So how would she know not to do that?

I'm sure Strauss will rake Morgan over the coals, but only the 2 parents were in the room with him, and they probably won't disagree with him. From their angle, it could have looked like the unsub could have been raising the gun just enough to shoot one of them. :scared1:

I feel bad he made Morgan shoot him. The coward. <insert spitting smiley> After all the people he's killed, he couldn't have taken himself out of the equation by himself? :sad2:

I like when Garcia said something like, "How's my main man?" and Reid, said, "I figure you aren't talking about me."

And when Prentiss said something like "Do you know how many people live in L.A.?" (she was being rhetorical) and Reid said" L.A. the city, or L.A. the county?". She looked at him and said, "you know the answer?". And he said "I know both answers." Only Reid could say something like that and not sound cocky. It was just a fact.

I HATE Strauss. I forgot about her until you mentioned her. And I guess, really we are supposed to hate her. There is absolutely nothing endearing about her. I guess Morgan won't get in trouble, nothing was mentioned for next week about it. Plus, they will be concentrating on JJ's departure and the usual unsub case to solve. There is no room on the episode for Morgan to be disciplined.

He might not be his usual, smiling, perky self for a long time though. :(

An FYI for everyone: Paget had confirmed on her Twitter page a while back when they renegotiated her staying for this season then cut down the number of episodes she will be on, that this is definitely her last season on the show. :sad1:

We watched the preview twice and my dd thought Reid said "she can take her away" so we thought maybe it was the "secretary".
We are so mad about JJ and Prentiss leaving. :sad1:

Did anyone else think when J.J. said to the "Secretary," "Sorry to be calling you at this hour," was it 3 am where the "Secretary" was? :lmao:

The two songs were both by Leonard Cohen. The one where he puts his head back and closes his eyes when they were in the stolen car was "Sisters if Mercy" and the closing song (the duet) was "Who By Fire".

I thought it was a good episode. The girl was way to calm. Even an adult would probably not picked up on Morgan telling someone else not to show fear and continuing. It wasn't bad enough to take me out of the show though.

The Night Stalker basically committed suicide by cop. The second he motioned the gun towards the wife I'm pretty sure any officer would be justified in shooting him.

I was really glad they wrapped up the plot today. I was worried that it would be like last year and be a sub plot for half of the season. The show still doesn't disappoint.

I have only recently started watching this show and I must say I am hooked. I love it. The characters are great and I'm disappointed that JJ is leaving. I am thankful for the couple of stations that play the old episodes. I watch them whenever possible.

Yep, I picked up on that. I immediatly figured out she called someone in DC. Maybe even the White House.

I am SO mad they are getting rid of Prentiss. That leaves Garcia as the only female on the show. They HAVE to have more than one. :headache:

She was so calm, that even by the last scene when Morgan was holding her, she had a look in her eye like she was in on it. Clearly, she isn't, but it kept me guessing the whole time.

Like you, I'm not ready for another "Reaper" that takes up half the season. Give it about 2 more seasons, and I might be time. I was afraid that since Tim Curry was the unsub, that this would be more than a 2 episode arc. Glad it wasn't.

I thought it was unrealistic that J.J. would be on the air alone talking to the unsub. That when she had asked Hotch for help, he said, "I'll be listening," instead of staying on the phone, in her ear. I would have thought, Hotch, as Unit Chief, or Rossi with his nearly 25 years of experience, would have stayed with her, coaching her through, if she went off the mark, or strayed, as she did, from empathizing with the killer.

What if it had gone horribly wrong and Curry had killed Ellie? What were they going to say to Strauss later, "Oh, we were listening in on the radio? :confused3 I don't think that would have gone over well. J.J. told Hotch a couple times she doesn't do hostage negotiation. It's not like the two most experienced members were doing anything else at the time and couldn't be in her ear. They were both were listening to the broadcast.

Of course, it was all done to set her up for leaving next week. :(

Yes, I wondered the same thing. Especially since we knew J.J. would be on 2 episodes. I was afraid Curry would call into the station and she'd end up having to talk back & forth to him for 2 episodes and that ended up screwing up her mind.

I had to dig back to a press release I had posted a while back:

'Criminal Minds' exec teases premiere

By Morgan Jeffery, TV Reporter

"The producer of Criminal Minds has promised that the cliffhanger ending to the fifth season finale will not be resolved quickly.

Viewers saw the daughter of Detective Spicer (Eric Close) kidnapped by a sinister serial killer (Tim Curry) in the episode.

Ed Bernero told TV Guide that the sixth season premiere will feature a "rolling hostage situation" in which a member of the BAU team makes contact with Curry's character.

"The solution rests on whether or not that team member can convince this psychopath to spare the little girl he's taken," he said.

He added that the events of the premiere will have strong repercussions, explaining that "another team member will be affected for a long, long time by what happens".

I'm glad J.J. is mentally okay. If I'm interpreting the press release properly, another character is affected, not J.J. Which of course, would likely be Morgan.

The reports are they will be introducing another woman to the show later on. They had taken several episodes to bring in Rossi to replace Gideon. Although, that changeover was unplanned.

I have only recently started watching this show and I must say I am hooked. I love it. The characters are great and I'm disappointed that JJ is leaving. I am thankful for the couple of stations that play the old episodes. I watch them whenever possible.

The moment I've been waiting for in my psychology class happened on Friday. After the bell rang, my teacher said "Today we're watching a video about criminal profiling."

:dance3:

And then she said "If you've ever seen Criminal Minds you'll know what that is."

The video was pretty good. We're talking more about profiling tomorrow :)

And I forgot to tell you guys this before, but my mom had a very weird CM dream a few weeks ago. Her sister was married to Hotch and they had two sets of twins  :rotfl:

That's exactly what I thought would happen. I thought that would be what made J.J. leave.

I don't want to see sad/mad Morgan anymore :sad1:
