I'm currently in a 2 hour line for Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo Disney SEA and was wondering what you guys think is the next DVC resort that's going to open?

Almost everything tikiman said came to fruition with the exception of Yacht Club but we're now at the end of that timeline. Do you guys think Yacht Club will still happen? If not, what do you think will be the next DVC resort that hasn't been officially announced? More moderate conversions like CFW? More standalone DVC resorts like RIV? A RIV/BLT expansion? 🤔

i am interested to see about boardwalk with all this new open space coming up.
I hate to say it but a tower in the Crescent Lake area would absolutely rake in money even though it would take away a lot from the aesthetic. My money would not be exempt from being taken though 😬

D23 at Coronado made me think man that resort has it all: Great pool, variety of good dining, nice theming, wide variety of accommodations including a club level, and its large. BUT the casitas have those moderate exterior (walk in front of the room) hallways and the tower has no balconies. Could be a nice DVC property but might need too much of a renovation to pull it off.

Just grabbing Yacht Club and calling it a day at that whole resort complex might be the easiest move and it would sell lightning fast.

At some point, how many new resorts can one build? I think entire new deluxe resorts on vacant land might be on hold until they finally look to build another park in 10-20 years.

Of course a few years back they did file a permit to build an Epcot resort behind future world or whatever it’s now called. So maybe that?

If I had to guess, I’d say it will be an expansion of RIV.

Strongly agree with this. There's so much space over in that area and it seems like the Riviera doesn't fit in with the Caribbean Beach thing going on. I could see a new room category of Cinque Terra 4-bedroom units along the water, with a tower nestled in behind in a way that looks like charming Italian homes staggered up a hillside. Lots of potential for upmarket units.

If we're talking WDW, something in the Epcot/HS studios would seem the most logical after RIV sells out. Tearing down Aruba and either expanding RIV or just an entirely new DVC resort seems like a possibility. Seems like some people wondering whether something is going on with Boardwalk and the closing of the art store.

Only other thought on RIV expansion - I think they'd need to have something up and running by 2030 to add to RIV - otherwise I think it would have to be a new DVC resort because of the 40 year limitation - I think I have that right, but feel free to correct me.

I would absolutely love YC, but I highly doubt it will happen as long as the convention center is used. I could honestly see Beach Club cash being converted when the rooms reach the end of their life.

True, I guess both BCV and BWV are tough when they expire in 15 years… which makes Yacht Club even more likely. ;)

If ANY of the Crescent Lake resorts get a DVC with 50 years on the purchase I will buy it regardless of the trust, resale restrictions, dues, room breakdown, etc as long as I can walk (or scoot as I age 50 years) to two parks :rotfl:

I would even take a resort across Epcot Resorts Blvd like Swan Reserve

Definitely is coming, but not next.

I would guess Yacht Club (or BCV tower) or a new resort utilizing the RIV skyliner stop.
I second crescent lake area. They need something in that area to take over when BWV expires. After all BWV was one of the original resorts. It is our first purchase in 1996 and is pretty special to us. It is a great location. However, I am afraid that they will overbuild. The parks are super crowded as it is. Lines for everything from food, to shopping are pretty long. Disney Springs is packed, Parks are packed, buses are packed. ADR's can be very hard to come by. No real slow season, except in the heat. LL is more of a necessity than luxury. Say if everyone uses LL then is there really LL?

I know that things will never go back to the way they were 20 years ago. (Paper fastpass, No ADRs (reserve at the park the day of), busses pretty easy. Things were much simpler then. Sigh. I guess I'm just an old fart waxing nostalgic!

I would rather see a fifth gate instead of more DVC. Or at least someplace else to put the people.

As it is we are still visiting on a regular basis, but doing less and less park time. The next trip will be spending time at Universal.

My guess would be Yacht Club doesn’t happen until close to 2042. I could see Disney combining the BCV expiration to make a larger DVC resort there.

My guess is a second Riviera tower. The last few months Riviera’s pace slowed to the point that recent pace does not seem sufficient to sell it out before 2027. No reason to rush if the next build is also Riviera.

Nice to have MK (LSL/CFW/PVB) and Epcot/DHS locations for sale at the same time.

Personally, I would build YCV around 2032-2035, so it could be combined with BCV2 2042-2045 window. I fully expect it to be restricted and possibly the highest point charts on property. Disney knows Crescent Lake is the best access to 2 theme parks.

Lakeside Lodge is next and they are going to have a lot of points to sell. They are still selling Polynesian, Disneyland, CFW and what’s left of Riviera. Give up on Aulani. At some point they are going to be over saturated.
