Cricut paper dolls Disneyfied

I wanted to thank you for your post and the pictures!! I don't have a cricut but I do have a cuttlebug machine and the Sizzix paper doll dies. In the past I have used the dolls to make family members - but your doll sinspired me to branch out and try some disney characters! With a littel modification and some hand cutting I was abel to make tinkerbell, Snow White and Cinderella! Thank you! You have created a new monster in me! :rotfl:

wow :thanks: for all the compliments!

katied -- i had the Paper Doll dress-up catridge. really i just choose the character i wanted to make, then flipped through the book to find the article to cut out. alot of them are altered after cutting. i.e. cut in half vertically to make a jacket. if you want details on one, like i just attempted to explain for Mary, i'll do my best. here is link to the cricut message board thread where i found the ones i copied off http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=3977290

THanks. I think with the pictures posted here, and the book, I can piece things together. I never thought of doing this, but I love the results. If I run into trouble, I'll post a specific question. It looks like I'll have Sunday free (DH and DS will be off on their own, so I'll just be home with DD) and I hope to pull out my Cricut and play around.

I don't know how to post pictures - can anyone tell me how to do it?

You'll need to upload your photos to a hosting site.. most of us use photobucket.com...

when you upload them there it will give you a IMG code that you will just copy and paste into the post on here... it's super easy to do...

the DIS has a community photo area as well...once you get your file uploaded, right click on the picture and "copy" the properties. back to your post, click on that icon above the text box that looks like a postcard, 2nd from the far right. you'll get a pop-up and this is where you "paste" the properties of your picture. make sure "http:\" is only once at the beginning, the pop-up will insert that and if your properties already has it with your "copy" it will duplicate.

and coruth -- you're welcome! i'm tickled you all enjoyed them and got some inspiration :teeth:

Here is my take on The Swiss Family Robinson characters that I have seen out and about in Adventureland..

Thank you for the "how to" on loading pictures - I will give it a try tonight!

katied -- just another thought...i'm a bit over-planner, but then again isnt' that a trait common around the DIS? lol.. at the end of my day putting those together, i thought i'd approach differently by laying out my colored paper...i wanted to coordinate between common-themed characters, link Tinker and Peter Pan, etc. Lay out all the different colored paper and with post-it note on each colored cardstock, write out what to cut (Indian girl accessories 1) then i could set the machine to cut multiple cuts at once, seperate them as they are cut....then glue. does that make sense? i think it would seem tedious, but save significant time in the long-run. (i did alot of load/unload)

These are the ones I tried doing with the Sizzix die....
Cinderella

Snow White

I don't do faces on them - but after seeing the stamp set for faces I may have to start!

wow :thanks: for all the compliments!

for Mary, i don't have the book anymore so i'll try to remember/explain.

Her dress and coat are the same piece, simple one piece dress. for her coat i trimmed off a little on the bottom and cut in 1/2 vertical. her scarf (that one took me awhile to figure out too) that is the stolle (sp?) from the promgirl...snipped in half and glued together in that manner, trimming off excess. her umbrella is from the clown. her hat is from a lady, maybe even called 'dress up' it reminded me of Red Hat ladies. I cut off the top portion of the hat. the boots, i'm drawing a blank on, but they are definately boots, i didn't alter them. her bag i wasn't sure what the pattern i looked at was using, i ended up cutting out some trapezoid object, cutting the bottom portion off and flipping top-bottom; using my corner rounder on (now) bottom corners. i have a punch i used for the bag handle. really that was complicated, i'd just free-cut a bag out.

make sense?

Thanks!!!!

Thank you for inspiring me to get that cartridge -- M's had it on clearance for $19.99. I'm going to the SDV Orlando scrapping convention at the Contemporary in a couple of weeks and will be working on a book about my DGS' love of trains. So, I started with train engineers:

Shirt, jeans, bandana and boots are the cowboy, the overalls bib is from pioneer girl, and the hat is a cap from Stand and Salute. The dolls are 4 inches and the cap is just a bit under an inch (.90) -- the Gypsy made it easy to fit the cap to the doll's head. Now it looks like I need to get the metallic pen out and add some tiny buttons.

Now to make the WDW conductors and Sir Topham Hatt (from Thomas the Tank Engine) -- probably mostly using the groom (and a trimmed version of the same cap).

I LOVE your "Disney-fied" dolls! I just bought a Cricut and ordered this cartridge off eBay for $20 (free s/h). Your post inspired me and I saved it in my "favorites"! Thanks! :thumbsup2

You all have made such great "dolls". the paper doll carts are 2 of my favorites. Now I will try to expand my horizons and make some Disney charatcters with them. That's if I can ever get myself back into my scraping room. Summer has been so hecktic, I've hardly gotten anything done.

Thought I'd bump this thread up by showing the other two train figures (sorry the scanner bumped them around). Looking forward to doing some other Disney-related ones and to one of these days getting ahold of the Everyday PPD cart. And now I want to draw my own faces or try the peachy keen stamps (my hand isn't very steady for drawing those little faces, but I'm not excited about the pre-cut ones).
