Does anyone have a Cricut Mini? Thinking of buying a Cricut but not sure I want to spend the money on an Expression. I don't scrap all that much to really justify it, but maybe a regular Cricut or a Mini? Any thoughts from the group?

would you be happy with just the carts??
or would you want to create your own images??

I would be fine with the cartridges and I'm also familiar with using software, so the on line software they use intrigues me. I would not design my own artwork. I'm concerned that the mini doesn't have the keyboard thingy you use with the cartridges and if it would be as easy to use not having that. I do like being able to use 12" sheets instead of cutting them down to 6".

I thought the mat was 8 inches??
any ways look at getting a used expression - lots of people selling them & going with the cameo (I would change too if I wasn't saving for Disney)

I'm so used to using programs that I never look at the books or keyboard
I set up the images that I want cut then cut the cardstock out to just cover the area - example if I'm needing a 1.5 in circle then I'll cut a 2in square & put on the spot that the machine will cut

I did make a file system of leftover paper so when I need a small piece I look in it - folders labeled the name of the colors - red, blue yellow green etc

I'm not certain, but I believe you can only use the mini with the software. So if you're at a crop with no WiFi, you wouldn't be able to use it. (Not positive).

It is true that you need internet accessibility to use the Mini. I have both the mini and the Expression. I use my Mini for 99% of what I do.

The mat for the mini is 8 1/2 x 11 vs up to 12x24 for the Expression.

Since I got my Mini a year and a half ago, I have almost used it exclusively and I love it. HSN had it on clearance a few weeks ago for 69.99.
