I have one question ... Why?

Why won't it work? Because they historically release things before they are ready.

Why another machine? The almighty dollar, that's why another machine.

Well gee, that sounds an awful lot like the original cricut. Oh wait, it is!! That's portable, even has a handle on it.

Now the E2 piqued my interest because it has a light (that was the one thing they really missed on E1) and the fact that I can use the imagine carts on it. Maybe if my E1 dies, I'll buy this, dunno. Still need to buy and store a spare E1 so I can use my SCAL.

I can't update my E because of SCAL. I may have to invest in another machine at some point (probably some Black Friday), but I doubt I'll get an Imagine.

I basically meant why make another one. Seriously. I have the original Cricut and the pink E. I've never had a problem with either one of them. I bought a Gypsy and seriously wish I had never bought it. When it comes to hooking anything up to my computer I'm lost. I have considered an Imagine but it's not in the budget so that's never gonna happen. I'll stick with my pink E until she konks out ... which will probably be soon since I mentioned this.
I still haven't tried the Cricut Craft Room ... is it up and running ... or just for the "chosen few"?

I think it's still for the "chosen ones" of which I happen to be one, but I can't really use it, because I don't want to update my firmware. I like the interface, and it's a lot easier to use than Design Studio (and by all means the Gypsy), but I don't want to mess up things with SCAL on my machine.
