Cricut Imagine

PO3 - if you figure out how the G works would you please let me know? I'm wondering why I spent the money on it. Could have bought a whole lot of other scrap stuff. Lessons would be great ----not to mention an instruction book. Did yours come with one?

It is too bad I am so far away...I would be happy to give Gypsy lessons! :goodvibes

There are lots of helpful videos on YouTube -- search for Cricut Gypsy. It's odd that it came with no instructions -- and the downloadable pdf on the cricut.com site is only vaguely helpful (but is a start anyway -- helpful to have). The G is not intuitive, but not overwhelmingly hard once you play with it some; it's pretty fun and amazing, esp with the recent updates (also a challenge to figure out how to do an update). The cricut.com messageboards are helpful. I'm glad I didn't get mine early on, tho -- I would have been majorly annoyed and frustrated with it -- it was very helpful to have the assistance of the early adopters who figured it out. Odd that Provocraft does so little instructional support for their products.

I bought a Gypsy after Christmas last year because I had to have one. Honestly, I don't think I've designed a single thing on it. It seems hard to work on and it's frustrating me. Maybe I'm missing something, but I regret that purchase. The only thing I use it for is to look for items I want to use on the carts. Then I use the cart in my Cricut.
Will watch the Imagine for a little while and see if it is something I will really use. I'm really trying to keep my purchases limited because we are saving for DW next year. Can only go if I keep to the budget, which is small for scrappin stuff. Anyway.......more than you needed to know.

My feelings exactly about the Gypsy ... use it for looking up things I want to cut then use the cart AND even worse ... use it as a shopping tool. Not good. Also kind of wish I hadn't bought it. It kind of annoys me that Provo Craft sells these things and then doesn't do much to show people how to use them. And their slow website isn't much help lately either.
That said ... would LOVE an Imagine but it's not gonna happen anytime soon. Looks like the ink cartridges are going to cost as much as the carts do on sale.

Enjoy your new toys ladies! Please share some of your creations with us.

Just tried set up my NEW Imagine w/my Gypsy, and I got a "defective" Imagine that would not interface:( Long story short, sent it to PC & just got my replacement Imagine. Now I'm afraid of it:)

Where can I go to learn how to REALLY use it well and where can I go to learn how to use my Gypsy? I'm not technosavvy, and I must say I am ready to cry over no instructions being included w/the Gypsy plus having trouble w/the Imagine.

One question on the Imagine-can you print the layered images on traditional cartridges (like Mickey, or fairy godmother for example) with colored ink so you would not have to cut & layer each piece? I love the look of these, but HATE some of the teeny tiny pieces (like white of their eyes).

TIA
