I didn't know that Cricut did this -- has anyone done it that can explain it to me??

TIA,
Brenda

Yeah, I think I heard something about that. You put an embossing tip in where the blade goes and it embosses. That's about all I know though ;)

I hadn't heard of an embossing tip yet, but it seems reasonable it could be done really easily. Does anyone know how much the tip goes for? :confused3

The kit is $9.99 retail- scrapbookpal has it for $8.49 and refills for the same price. It uses either the regular blade or the deep cut blade. According to what I see you cut the design out of the plastic sheet and then put it into a blank embossing folder (included in the kit) and then use that to emboss.

I've seen the kit at my local JoAnn. It's a lot like the rubber stamp creating set, only instead of it being the rubber stamp material it's the same sort of material the embossing dies (is that what they're called?) that you use for the Cuttlebug are made of. So you use the machine on said material and it creates the embossing dealie of that imprint and then you use it on your Cuttlebug. On the packaging they act like it's for the purpose of being compatible with the Cuttlebug machine, but I'm not familiar with that...you may be able to use their embossing dies on other machines too?

You can use most of the dies between each embossing machine- the embossing ones especially- you just need the right layering of stuff to help it get through the machine but since provocraft makes both the cuttlebug and cricut they have them set for using together.
