cricut design studion

Has anyone seen this software... I think it is just in preorder now. Anyone have a sense of what it will do? It sounds like it will make the cricut more like the wishblade but still with carts??? Any thoughts?

I haven't seen it in stores, but it just started shipping from online stores. Apparently you use your cartridges you currently have and can mix and match the elements on the cartridges. You can also weld the letters together. This is all from what I understand. I didn't think I would need this but now after reading about it on the Cricut boards.... I am rethinking that.

Some people on the boards already have it. I am really considering going out and buying a dirt cheap laptop to run it on since Provo Craft seems to have an issue with making things Mac compatible.

I just can't wait until they come to their senses.....I need it NOW!!!!

I need a cheap laptop too, not for the Mac issue (which is so silly- what where they thinking?). I purposefully put the computer away from my scrapbook table- I found myself surfing the internet, reading the DIS instead of scrapping. I am much more productive now. I think I would like the laptop concept too, my scrapbook table is pretty full, the laptop could moved away when finished. Still lots of kinks to work out- thanks for letting me "talk" it out!

LOL my scrap stuff is no where near the computer and I still spend way too much time here!!!

My BFF has shipping confirmation from customcrops that her Design Studio software is on the way. The funniest part is that her Cricut just arrived yesterday. Once she decides to do something, she goes all out.....I guess that's why we're friends, lol.

I can't wait to try the software. If I like it I'll probably buy it after my "no new scrapbook stuff" time period comes to an end.......maybe it will be my Valentine's Day gift to myself!

Laptop Warning! Warning! Warning!

Laptops can be hazardous to your overall productivity - scrapping or otherwise. It's the whole lap thing....one minute it's in a normal desklike location and next thing you know, you are laying in the dark with it in your LAP and dis-sing at all hours of the night!

Future Laptoppers Beware..........

That said, my laptop is an extension of my fingertips!

Ok kidding aside, I love the idea of the welding of letters - I like to do license plates and toppers for swaps and I HATE gluing those letters one at a time and it looks so much nicer all together.

Not sure if it's worth it to do only that though - what other kinds of things can you do to alter the shapes and such?
