Cricut Carts: Sticker shock!

I bought a Cricut on Black Friday of 2010, fully intending to use it. Well, life has a way of throwing you curve balls and scapbooking got pushed to the bottom of my "To-Do" list. Even that might be an exaggeration because I don't think it even made the list. :worried:

Finally, things are looking better, much better, and I've started to wipe away the many layers of dust off my scrapbook things. I decided that I need a few more carts for it and I'm off to do some online shopping.

I'm looking for the Mickey Font and Best of Pixar. I've checked Joann's, Michael's, Cricut Machine, Custom Crops, Hallmark Scrapbooks, Memory Miser, Scrapbook Pal and Cricut ... either they don't carry them or they're out of stock. I checked ebay ... :scared1:

Are there some other stores that I could check or maybe SVG cuts (files)? I have SCAL2 (never opened / never used) if that opens up more options.

Thanks!

A lot of the Disney carts have retired. I find that it's harder and harder to by them. I think Joann only has the Mickey and friends cart and the one with Peter pan on the cover. I find that I'm more prone to use my SCAL then carts and believe I have lots of carts. I must be reaching the 40 easily. I like the fact that with scal, you can design exactly what you need and how you need it. If fits my needs better

if you are looking for scal files, check our Reddy blog. she has TONS of them. I use them all the time and they are free. http://reddyrd5.blogspot.ca/

Thanks for the link. :thumbsup2

What a sweetie to share all those for free!!:goodvibes

You can also get them fairly cheaply through the Cricut website as downloadable cartridges.

That's what I did because I'm cheap and I waited & waited for them to get less expensive and then they retired them. LOL:rolleyes:

I didn't use my Cricut Expression a lot right away either, but was glad I did buy SCAL2 back then. I only own about 8 cartridges. And I end up using SCAL2 the most.

:confused3
I don't follow Cricut's website or their cartridge sales, so obviously this is something I am unaware of. Downloadable cartridges?

I have the old Cricut Expression & SCAL2. And I was also able to get Cricut Craft Room AND SCAL2 to both be able to cut a few months ago after following some directions I found online that said it does work. I took a leap of faith, did the updates (Praying the entire time that I didn't screw myself & lose my SCAL2) and I did get it all to work despite the lawsuit & making it sound like it wouldn't work.

So, is this downloadable stuff thru Craft Room? How? I have only used Craft Room once. I was really more pleased with my SCAL2.
