I am very new to scrapbooking. I've amassed a ton of stuff over the last year, but have just now gotten started. I've scrapped my first 2 pages!:)

I bought a cricut at Michael's two weeks ago. Have read the instructions, but haven't used it yet. I got the one that was on sale for $199. It came with the George font and basic shapes cartridge.

Since I'm just learning all the things that can be done, I'm thinking I'd like a cartridge with different fonts and shapes on it. I'd also like one with Disney lettering.

Which are your favorites and why? Michael's has the cartridges on sale this week, so I may get 1 or 2 and just need advice on which to get.

Thanks for your suggestions!
Terri

AC Moore also has them on sale - they're BOGO at AC Moore :D

My favorites are my Mickey & Friends (Shapes) and Base Camp (Font). I also love my Printing 101 (font) and Doodlecharms (shapes)

I have only had mine a couple of weeks but I am hooked! I got the same one you did with the George cart. I bought hte mickey font and am having fun with it. I have made all the heads of the characters so far. I am debating on getting the Mickey and friends one or not.
I also have the Alphalicous and Animal ones. There are a TON more I want,I guess I need to pace myself. Have fun and start playing!

I would say the most useful cartridges for me are Doodlecharms for a shape cartridge and Mini Monograms for a font cartridge.

I like Opposites Attract because its like 3 fonts in 1. I also really like Alphalicious and Base Camp for simple fonts. Mickey and Friends is awesome. There is more on there than just the characters.

I have a wishblade for all my fonts, but actually broke down and bought the cricut for the disney characters!! I know you can make them with the wishblade, but I the poses and all that are just too cute and super easy with the cricut.

My favorite is All Mixed Up.... then it would be Jasmine..... for shapes Doodlecharms. :)

Doodle charms and oddly enough the paper dolls are the two image ones I use the most. Paper dolls has a lot more than just dolls and clothes on it. I have quite a few fonts (I guess which is the best is simply a preference) but my favorite is jasmine.

Any other opinions on this one? I'm looking at buying a couple of cartridges for my new bug.

I just bought Cuttin Up and I really like it as well. And I have the new Christmas one on its way- Joys of the Season.

This is going to be an expensive habit, isn't it? :lmao: If it gets me scrapbooking, it will be worth it.

My favorites right now are Opposites Attract and Alphalicious! I love Joys of the for a shapes cart, but I also love Christmas!! :)

I can't wait to get Stretch Your Imagination because I know that is going to be an instant favorite as well!

I just bought the Mickey Font and Mickey shapes on ebay. I couldn't resist. I am looking at Doodlebug charms, base camp, opposites attract and alphalicious for my next purchases.

Um.... its a little bit expensive...:lmao: considering that I have acquired 18 cartridges since I bought the bug in April. And most of those have been purchased in the last 3 months. :rolleyes1

I just bought Cuttin Up as well and I think that will be favorite font cartridge - I just love the different options! It can be a bit expensive but thanks to the cricut, I've learned to be a really good bargain hunter! I have about 13 carts now and I've only paid over $50 for 2 of them (Mickey Font and Mickey & Friends). All the rest, on average, I've gotten for around $40!! :thumbsup2 So, be diligent and you can great deals!

I was excited that I got the Mickey font & Mickey & Friends for $45 each on ebay. I'm setting a guideline for myself (& family who I ask for gifts) that I not pay more than $50 for any one cartridge. If I can't get it for less than that, then I won't get it. At least I'm going to try to stick to that. :lmao: :lmao:

Yup, only the two Mickey ones did I pay more then $50 for them. Almost paid $54 for Going Places and then decide I didn't need it that bad. I"ll wait for a better deal. :rotfl:

I haven't paid more than $50 for any of mine, including my Mickey & Friends (AC Moore 50% off sale made it $50 exactly)
