i haven't posted here but I enjoy scrapbooking and looking at the threads. Maybe one day I will try a challenge.

Well I just wanted to share I was at walmart and they had cricut cartridges on clearence for $20 I bought two (one i have been wanting and it was the last one and one that looked like fun)

Don't know if all walmarts have this sale but when I am running errands today I am going to look at the other walmart to see what i can find

I went online to see if they had any on clearence but they had some disney ones for under 30 (Michaels and Joannes they are so expenses even when they are on sale I usually get my on black friday from these stores) Some are not at the lower pricers (maybe because they are newer I want the pixar one and a christmas gingerbread theme one but those are not at the low prices yet) At least I know i can look at prices to compare when I try to bid on ebay (even thought i usually get outbid)

it is the older ones that most people have that are on sale.
I haven't looked at the new carts in awhile don't know if I will at this time - I'm thinking of changing cutters
the Ginderbread sounds fun

I want Michael's to bring back that $10 sale!!

is it true that many retailers in the US are increasing their prices of all Cricut products due to PC increasing their prices by a lot? I've heard a few rumours over here that some retailers are even stopping selling Cricut products due to this.

Most stores (all?) won't let you use coupons for Cricut products. I think that makes the prices more, unless there is a really really great sale (a clearance or Black Friday sale). I find myself not buying anywhere near as many cartridges as I have in the past, not just because I have SCAL, but because I don't LOVE anything as much as I have in the past.

I just got a e-mail from my favorite site for carts-that they will no longer be able to sell carts because PC had raised the prices so much. They offer carts at a good price normally and they always have the latest ones available. I don't know where I will order from now on.

I hadn't heard about a price increase. I find it frustrating that the price of these cartridges hasn't dropped considerably. Seriously, they MUST have figured out the cheapest way possible to make these things, are they paying the designers so much that they have to charge $100 for each one sold?

I am not sure if there is any official word on this (I guess there is based on the comment above that snuck in before I posted), but I can say that I have stopped buying carts at Michael's and Jo-ann's. M's prices are higher than on the Cricut website, plus they have gotten real inflexible with their price match policy. The last 2 times I have tried to price match I have had to argue with them and they would not budge...so I told them to keep their carts! (The first time it worked in my favor, the 2 carts I was trying to get ended up being the 9.99 carts and I was trying to get them to match at 19.99.) That being said, Meijer has actually lowered their regular prices a bit, but they do not have as big of a selection as other stores. Walmarts are hit and miss. I have not seen a full cart at any Walmart in ages, and only certain stores in my area carry the lites. On my last Walmart run they had 3 of the 30 or so lites on "clearance" for $25 and like morgansmom, I do not consider that a deal. (The saleslady tried to tell me that it was a really good deal because the regular price of those things is about $50...sorry lady, but you do not know who you are talking to. I know that is not true! :lmao:)

This is true too. I did use a coupon for my G in 2009, but is was a coupon without a no Cricut products disclaimer and it required a call to the head manager and then a trip to the store when he was working. (He agreed that without the disclaimer I was free to use it.)

I also agree that I am not buying as many because quite frankly everything that has been released here lately, with the exception of the last release, has been completely uninspired. It is the same old thing just slightly re-done. Heck, the cart release before this one featured "Best of" carts. That is nothing more than a re-release of things they have already done! Unless you are brand new to PC who is going to buy that? :confused3 What about us loyal customers that have been Cricuting since 2006. Last year was a pretty creative year for PC, but 2011 thus far is a flop in my eyes.
