How often do the blades, mats need replacing. I am new to Cricut, haven't used it yet, but curious...:surfweb:

I'm not to sure, I just got my bug in Feb. I read on the Cricut mb to use a baby wipe on your mat and it will bring back some of the sticky. I tried it and it did work but it didn't work the second time I tried I may need a new mat. I love the Cricut MB. Lots of Disney fans there too. I love my little bug.

I've had my bug since November. I just changed the blade for the first time and I've done about 200 cuts through mostly Bazzill.

I use Windex to clean my mats and that has worked repeatedly to renew the sticky. I cycle my mats. I used Bazzill on my new ones and can usually get about 60 to 80 cuts out of one with one mat cleaning. After the second mat cleaning, I only use the mat for thinner paper - like patterned paper or thin cardstock. I have a few that I use for Girl Scout craft projects only that are still sticky enough for construction paper and nothing else.

One tip is to use your arrow keys to make sure your mats are getting plenty of coverage. A lot of people just use the sides of their mat because they turn it back and forth. I make sure to use my arrow keys to move the blade to the center so I can take advantage of that middle section that doesn't get used much.

HTH!!!
