Cricket $25/mo plan for tween? other options? Anyone do PEEL for touch?

getting DD phone for 13 bday. <I should have bought a virgin mobile for her when I got mine before the price increase. But I didn't.>

Anyway....so now I'm looking at Cricket. It's 300 talk and unlimited text/data for $25. Pretty close. There's an ok phone for $50. I can buy through Fatwallet and get another $15 off.

But virgin mobile also offers a Peel for the Touch. $30 for the peel. It turns a 2g or 3g touch into a phone. You need to add earphones with mic if you want to make calls. The plan is then $20 a month but you are limited to 500mb data per month.

Anyone with opinions? Other options? thanks so much.

Cricket also has a cool music phone that gives unlimited song downloads and ringtones but it's $55 per month and if you leave cricket, you lose the music. so not worth it in my opinion.

If you live in an area with MetroPCS and want a total of 4 lines (or go in with friends and family), they are off 4 lines with unlimited talk, text and web for $100, you can also add a fifth line for $25.

I fixed it above, yes, I did mean $100, that's what I get for typing on my iPhone...LOL

Straight Talk (You most likely will have to buy a phone from them) from Walmart and H2O Wireless (can work with any unlocked phone and works with locked iPhones) could work out for you as well.

Do you expect her to use the phone that much? You may want to start with a PAYG phone from Page Plus (my personal favorite), Tracfone or Net10 to assess her usage. She may not need that many minutes or texts.

$30 unlimited but only 100 min talk which is probably fine as she'll text more. Free 411 calls.

PayLo 1500 talk and 1500 text but again only 30mb web $30

BeyondTalk $35 unlimited web&text 300 talk minutes <I have this and only pay $25>

Peel 3200 for the IPOD Touch
$20 month for 500mb but you would use the data for text and voice so might go fast

Cricket$25 month 300 minute plus unlimited text and web 411 calls are $1

Net10$25 for 750 minutes not sure if web and text unlimited or included in minutes and how many minutes count for these

right now free triplel minutes for life...so if you bought the 50 minutes for $9.99 you'd get 150 minutes...still trying to figure out how many minutes count for text and web. or for $30 you get 600 minutes. Doesn't seem like a good deal.
