Hi,

I was told today by MS that only resorts attached to Disney Hotels have cribs available. They said they have been phasing out cribs for a while because the safety regulations keep changing and the only thing available are Pack and Plays. Can anyone confirm this for me, we are staying at SSR in April and they said the only other option is crib rental. Also, has anyone else rented a crib, and how did it work out for you? Thanks in advance for your help.

MS did call SSR for me and they said they did have a few cribs. No guarentees. We have rented from Children's Furniture rental in the past. I do NOT reccommend them. What they gave me did not have sides that came down and every time you bumped it, it would fall apart. A Baby's Best Friend is another option. We might check this out in the fall.

FWIW - We just stayed at Old Key West earlier this month and got a crib for my 9 month old son. He used a Pack n Play for the first few nights but would cry every time he bumped against the side. We called housekeeping and they were able to find a crib, but it took a few hours (sounded like they had to get one from some sort of central warehouse). We got the crib and it was almost the exact same size as the Pack n Play, so he had the same problem. We ended up just putting the crib mattress in the Pack n Play and he seemed to like that the best.

Two years ago when my daughter was 11 months old, we rented a crib from A Baby's Best Friend and it worked out great for her (she never would sleep in a Pack n Play). I would recommend ABBF.

We were able to get a crib at Saratoga (not a full size, but not a P&P). It took some doing though.

On our last trip we used ABBF and were very pleased. Just be prepared to call bell services to have them bring it. Then you have to unpack the boxes, assemble the crib, and then before you leave you need to de-assemble, re-box & call bell services to have them pick it up.

I called and made a ressie about 3 weeks ago and asked the CM for a pack and play in our room . She said ohh you mean a crib? She had no idea what a pack and play is! I guess she doesn't have kids yet!

There should be a Pac 'n Play in all of the DVC rooms - in one of the closets.

We staed at SSR last May, and when I made the reservations, I stated that I wanted a full sized crib. When we checked in, I once again said I needed a full sized crib, as well as a high chair. The CM seemed annoyed by this, but I stood my ground, and said I booked a year in advance, and if she couldn't help me, then I wanted her supervisor. I'm not normally like this, especially in WDW, but she was soooooo rude to us from the begining. Anyway, I don't really think it was a big deal, because both the crib and the high chair were delivered within 10 minutes of us being in our room!!!! The crib even came with baby mickey sheets on it!!!!!!!
