crib question

We are traveling to VWL in August and I don't think my daughter will be comfortable in the pack-n-play crib, she will be 19 months old. I think I heard that you can pay for a crib rental. Does anyone know anything about this?

I just placed a crib on reserve with the above company that was mentioned. And it was reasonably priced.

My question is does the crib assemble easily and does the side rail go up and down to place the baby in it?

If you do a lot of traveling, check out Aero Beds. My son outgrew the pack and play quickly. Aero Bed makes a toddler bed that inflates in a minute or so, and is ressessed in the middle so a child cant roll out easily. It comes with a carry sack and when rolled up is about the size of a sleeping bag. If youre going to check it with luggage on a plane you might want to get a heavier duty bag to put it in as our bag has a hole worn in it now. We take ours everywhere-grandparents, WDW, trips, etc. If space is an issue (like in a cruise ship cabin), we also picked up a ready bed which is a sleeping bag that inflates. Not quite as comfy as the aero bed, but it works and is smaller to haul (our son carries it). When we first used them, our son would not settle down right away unless he was really tired. He kept getting up and walking around. If you get one, make sure to have your child sleep in it before you trip to get used to it.

We have rented from ABBF several times and it is always a pleasure, and definately worth the $ to have a nice clean full crib. To answer your question, it is rediculously easy to assemble, and both side rails drop.

The people at ABBF are wonderful to work with, also.

We rented recently from Children's Furniture Rental and were happy with the service and the crib. We haven't used ABBF, so I can't speak to a comparison...I just wanted to mention another option Although, one difference I am aware of is that CFR sets the crib up in your room and comes and retrieves it after you check out, with ABBF you do the set-up and take-down yourself (there are pros and cons to both, like if you need to move rooms, etc.) CFR doesn't have a web site like ABBF, but they were very nice to deal with over the phone. Call the resort and have it noted on our reservation. I think the resorts do have cribs--I know BCV does.

We used Childrens Furniture Rental this past May and had a very good experience with the service. I was going to go with ABBF but I chcse CFR instead because the last thing I wanted to deal with on vacation was assembling a crib, especially when we check out. If you go with CFR ask for Roy. Very nice man. Also I think we only paid 60-70(max) dollars for 5 nights. Worth every penny since DD would have never slept in a pack & play. Good luck and have a wonderful trip!

We chose ABBF because of their website (photos, detailed descriptions, and all the raving testimonials). We figured with all that going on and the website looking so good, the items they offer had to be nice. We were right, and I am so glad we ordered the crib from them. It was a beautiful wooden crib (like the photo), took me 5 minutes to set up, and we were in business; absolutely no hassle at all. We tried the resort crib in January at Boardwalk and ended up using the pack & play...they did bring us a crib, but it was a big stainless steel, hospital-looking thing that had a super soft mattress and very soft springs underneath. So, like I said, we opted to have housekeeping pick it back up and we just used the PnP. I don't know if all resorts have the same full size cribs...I would guess so though.
