Well I just read the package now (dumb moment) and they say do not freeze. Why is this? I froze some cresent rolls and some cinnimon rolls, will they be ok?

Good question... I wonder if it kills the yeast.

They are packaged really tight, so maybe they'd expand when frozen and pop the tube.

I think it's the other way. Probably they don't pop after being frozen. The OP will probably get flat biscuits & rolls that don't rise.

Yeah, I agree with bicker and Imzadi :)

It probably wouldn't harm you to eat them, but they might not taste or look right. I'd probably cook them and see what happens.

I think canned rolls keep a really long time in the fridge; next time you could just leave them in there instead of freezing them. I always keep them on hand, as my kids love those "pigs in a blanket" made with them, and also a breakfast casserole that uses them for the crust. I think the ones I've got stuck in the fridge now are good until August; I'm sure we'll eat them by then - lol.

(for what it's worth, I also microwave cookie dough that says "don't microwave" but I'm sure it says that because it doesn't turn into a cookie that way -it's just warm dough. But...that's what I want - lol)

I always assumed it was because they would explode!

I wonder why you couldn't take them out of the can and then freeze them?? As long as there were in a air tight container

Does anyone remember a story, a long time ago, about a woman in a car. SHe was slumped over the steering wheel in her car and someone noticed her and called 911. The cops broke into her car to help her and she told them she'd been shot in the head, it turned out it was biscuits, they exploded from the tube because of the heat and it hit her in the head.

Bicker and Imzadi are right. DBF did this too me once. I went to make my rolls and found them in the freezer. They did not get light and poofy when I made them. They were still delicious and weren't completely flat, just not poofy.

My biscuits are never light & poofy even when they've only been in the fridge. :( They never look anything close to the pictures. How do you get your biscuits light & poofy?

(Also, I wonder if the Tag fairy gives TWO tags on the same subject? :yay: I got a canned biscuit tag a while ago. :worship: :thumbsup2 )

:rotfl::confused3 I just do what the can tells me to do....works every time.

This was an urban legend that MythBusters tried to debunk (I think it was one of the first couple of shows) -- the temperature in the car was very extreme (120+ if I remember), but they did explode all over the car.

Well they have been in the freezer for about a month and havent exploded. there in the fridge now, thawing out so I can bake them.. We will have to see what happens
