One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given is that when the little voice in your head is telling you that something is wrong about a situation, you have to listen! You absolutely did the right thing!
I came home this afternoon a slew messages on my voicemail all related to this incident. The owner got my message yesterday and decided to take a quick look at the security tape (didnt even know they had any) and he said that after reviewing some "disturbing" behavior he had to call the police and they were coming to review the tapes. Apparently this creep had been at the gym since around 8am (I was there in the afternoon) and he had been doing creepy things all day. WHen they went back to look at his sign in's (when they swipe you in) they noted that he has been coming in several times a day.
They wouldnt tell me what was on the tape other than "disturbing" and "possibly criminial" behaviour and that he appeared to be going in an out of the womens locker room all day (no cameras IN there, just outside it so who knows what he did IN there ewwww) and when I saw him I was in the fitness room for women not the locker room, if I saw him in there I would have screamed. Ick.
The messages were from the owner, his wife, the police officer I spoke with yesterday and another officer that wanted me to come in for a report. They also interviewed the emplyees and are contacting the other gym members who have complained. I am headed to the police station after dinner.
My heart raced when I read your post; good for you for acting on your instincts. I've ignored mine before (although never in a situation as serious as this), and I've regretted it. You very well coud have saved someone's life.

How did the women in the locker rooms not notice he was in there with them?
That makes no sense-how would he know the women's area was empty before he entere, and if he walked in and somebody caught him, why wasn't he tossed out? 1+1=3.
