Creepy CM on the phone

I used to work in customer service for an airline. If you are wheezing at all from allergies say, it comes across as heavy breathing. Those headsets are either super sensative or you cannot hear at all!

Has Disney sent their phone operations to India yet? I know they have a general practice of giving operators an American sounding "phone name". My all time favorite is calling the 800 # for Stone Mtn Georgia and getting someone with a very heavy Indian accent named Mary Lou.

No Disney hasn't outsourced to India. Their CM's all work in Call Centers, mainly in Tampa, Orlando or in Kansas City. It is true that The CM's on the phone do not use their Own names. Each is given an individual name, So if you called in and got Zineb or Malakai, there is ONLY one of them.

Uhm, the way the guy talked to himself, and then whenever he stopped talking, he started panting and moaning into the phone. It was kind of obscene. I felt like I was listening to one side of a porno. If he does have a health problem, good luck to him.

?I'm not doubting you, but you've gone from him "sort of heavy breathing" to "panting and moaning"?

We probably spoke to the same CM. He was CREEPY! He didn't just breathe heavy, it was LOUD! He carried on a conversation with himself the entire time. I was LOL by the time I hung up.

that happens to me everytime i call for something about my credit cards, it drives me nuts. i can barely understand them, their accents are so heavy. i wish that people would realize that this is customer service and that for occations like phone conversations we need people who we can fully understand what they're saying so we don't have to say "sorry, can you say that again?" a million times.

If he was out of Orlando I can sympathize. I'm having trouble breathing today. We have this huge dust cloud thing hanging over the area. Mix that with the heat and it is miserable.

Maybe the man has some sort of breathing problem. Disney does hire a lot of older folks, you know.

Excellent point! I was thinking the same thing - he could be physically disabled and this is one of the few jobs he could handle.

I just called to buy tickets for MNSSHP for our October trip, and the CM was kind of strange. He was almost a heavy breather - if he called me, and I wasn't the one calling him, I would have hung up the phone. He talked to himself throughout the call, and during silent times, he really breathed heavily into the phone. He wasn't verbally inappropriate at all, but I felt a little uncomfortable with his panting and moaning sounds. On the plus side, I purchased my tickets.

Anyone else ever get a strange person on the other end of the phone?

I don't believe I have ever spoken to the dude you have mentioned since he seems pretty memorable. They way I see it, he was either

1. Putting on a show as you were calling for MNNSHP tiks and perhaps he was trying to get you into a "scary " mood.

2. Perhaps was having difficulty breathing or had something caught in his throat - of course if that were the case he perhaps should have been talking care of himself and not answering calls at that time.

Heavy breathing is one thing - but what's up with the moaning and talking to himself? Do you mean that he would ask a question and then answer himself? Wow, kind of odd, IMO. That talking to self/answering own question thing was on a Seinfeld - maybe he was a big fan, LOL. My pet peeve is calling a buisness and getting a person on the other end who does not speak clearly - now that is annoying. On a lighter note, that's great that you were able to secure your tickets for the party. Halloween rocks!

Funny some of you mentioned the names - I just called this past Saturday to make my reservations and it struck me funny that the CM's name was Flossie - so I wrote it down on my notepad and showed my husband. I wondered if it was a real name.
