Creepiest Childrens Books Ever

I know a lot of people love this book, but I find Love You Forever creepy. It starts out innocently enough- a mother's love for her son will never end. Then, it ventures into stalker territory :scared1: when she crawls into her adult son's window to rock him to sleep.

I always picture the daughter in law walking in on them and thinking, "WTH did I marry????" ...And I thought MY MIL had trouble cutting the apron strings :lmao:

My son loves this book and I thought the same thing. Stalker, what does the son't wife think?!

As the books on the OP link, there were a couple I think I would by. My son is refusing to put poop in the potty and these books may help.

I think the book is called There was an old lady who swallowed a fly- or something like that. I swear this was written to terrorize children and parents alike. :scared1: When I had my first I had ordered some pop up books and this was one of them. I don't remember who made them but they were the scariest books I have ever seen. My son wanted no part of them and it looked like whatever was popping up needed Holy Water on it. The story alone was disturbing but add the pop ups in and it was a full out horror book!

Your comments almost made me spit out the water I was drinking. Every week in second grade we had to sing that song/read that book. “There was an old lady who swallowed a fly… perhaps she’ll die.” :scared1: :rotfl:

There has been a series of books along that same vein recently. For Christmas, there was an old lady who swallowed all these Christmas things including a sleigh, reindeer and Santa. Very strange!

Not a book but a lot of people of my generation used to sing this lovely song- even in school.

Tooth Fairy by Audrey Wood freaked me out as a kid. It was about a little girl who was jealous of her brother’s loose tooth. So, she decides to trick the tooth fairy by putting a corn kernel under her pillow. Something happens and basically all the tooth fairies now want to kill the little girl! At least, that’s how I remember it… :confused3 :rotfl:
