Credits on Deluxe DP

We have booked our trip and included the DxDP for the week. We can use the credits interchangably at both CS and TS restaurants.

A CM told us that we can save up a few credits by only using 2 CS credits instead of 3 for breakfast or lunches and then we can do a couple of signature restaurants or a dinner show because we have a few extra credits.

My question is: if we use 2 credits for 2 CS meals and then we have 1 credit left over (with 3 pax), how will that left over credit be classified on the DxDP? Will it be an adult or child meal or just a credit that anyone can use?

Thanks!

There is no distinction on the deluxe dining plan. Just be aware it is a lot of food, 2 snacks a day and 3 meals. Unless you do some signature meals, you will most likely have credits at the end.

There is no classification between the credits as far as CS and TS as the credits can be used however you want, but I think they are still divided as far as adult credits and child credits. If there are any children 3-9, they will have child credits and have to order off of the kids menu (where available).

If you're paying for the DxDDP, you are losing money to use more than one or two at QS. You've paid almost $110 per adult for the plan. QS meals (and especially breakfast) are all around $10.

When you check-in you are given all your credits for your whole trip. They are not allotted to you day-by-day. If you're staying 5 nights, 2 adults and 1 child, you will receive 30 adult credits and 15 child credits. On Day 1, you could use one credit each for breakfast, then one credit each for CS lunch. At dinner you could use 2 credits each for dinner. That's a total of 4 credits each. But remember, you have your whole supply of credits to draw from.

Let's say on a few mornings you just have coffee/soda and a pastry and pay out-of-pocket, or use a snack credit. That way you have extra adult and child credits available for 2-credit TS dinners. We sometimes order the croissant breakfast sandwich, bacon and potatoes. We cut the croissant sandwich in half, and share the other items. That saves 1 adult credit. At lunch, you and spouse could share a sandwich, fries and dessert. That saves one adult credit. Later you can use a snack credit to get fruit or yogurt. For your child, maybe for breakfast or lunch, your child orders something simple that has little cost, like Uncrustables or yogurt. Better to pay for that out-of-pocket and save the child credit for a 2 TS child's dinner. These are some ways you can use credits creatively to have 4 credits available on certain days to use for 2 TS dinners.

Disney will keep track of adult-child credit use, and your receipt will show remaining credits. You can also stop at the front desk any time to check dining credit usage/availability. As someone else posted, for the daily cost of the program, it's better to skip using credits for breakfast entrees, and save those credits towards 2 TS dinner meals. You can get simple items for breakfast with your snack credits, and sometimes that's all you want to eat in the early am.
